The largely unknown macropod, the quokka, is one of the cutest and friendliest native animals I have come across in Australia. This one was seen happily grazing on some leaves on Rottnest Island close to Perth in Western Australia.
Whilst quokka numbers on Rottnest Island are quite abundant due to it's high level of protection, mainland populations are threatened by habitat destruction and feral animals. If you're ever in Perth, jump on a boat over to Rottnest Island and visit the cute little quokka, you won't be disappointed as the island is beautiful.
