Seagulls are very intelligent birds, but instead of telling you some fun facts today, I would like to talk about a God of Irish mythology who is associated with seagulls.
Manannán Mac Lir was the legendary sea-god of the Tuatha Dé Danann. These were the people that lived in Ireland during the Bronze Age.
Manannán Mac Lir is said to have been the first ruler of the Isle of Man, and the Tuatha Dé Danann believed he had a great palace and throne there.
Being a sea-god, he often appeared in the form of a seagull. Just like seagulls, he had a sense of humor but was also a survivalist. He also enjoyed playing a good trick on others - something that seagulls are good at too.
This particular seagull makes me smile with his poker face - I think he would be a great meme!!!
