What is The Steem House
The Steem House is an exciting new project that seeks to bring the talents of individuals in Frankfort, Kentucky to a physical space, a Maker Space. It will encourage creativity, teach new skills, help develop new ideas and small businesses. Through the use of Steemit, it will seek to show users how they can turn their ideas and creativity into cash by sharing and blogging about it on the STEEM blockchain.
They will cater for persons for all ages and will provide
- A creative, family-friendly environment to socialize and collaborate with others.
- Fun and informative workshops and seminars for adults AND children!
- Community projects and fundraisers to stimulate the local culture and economy.
- Shared materials for numerous writing, arts, and craft projects.
They will also provide a support network that will help its members to earn on the blockchain. Networking is key in each one's success and they will provide it.
Maker Space Success
Other maker spaces have been successful in the past Rockwook Makerspace and the Creation Station have been successful at enabling students to find their inner creative. The Steem House goes further, enabling its members to earn STEEM. There’s no reason why they cannot succeed and do the same for the residents of Frankfort, Kentucky.
I believe in creativity and giving persons a way to get in touch with their inner-selves and their creativeness. I believe that this is what leads us on to our purpose and destiny in life. This is why I’m supporting this project.
Funds Already Raised
The STEEM House has already managed to raised close to 2000 STEEM (1985 to be exact) through funding from persons who believe in the project. They are affectionately known as The Dream Team. By investing early they each earned themselves a stake in the company and will receive lifetime returns from the @thesteemhouse account.
The Current Need
Things don’t always go as planned and while this crowd funding exercise was a massive success, the recent fall in STEEM price means that this 2000 STEEM raised, falls woefully short of its initial value back when STEEM was worth USD $4. The founder, @thatsweeneyguy, as any founder would, just decided to work around the problem. He has change the purpose of these funds. Whereas it would have been sufficient to use as a deposit on a space, pay for the first few months of rent and take care of various start-up expenses, it will now be left on reserve, to be used to buy material, tools, machines, 3d printers and computers when they acquire the physical space. Instead he now focuses on a dedicated fund in order to move into the building and secure the project space for the next two years. This way he will be able to focus all energies on the success of the project.
Seeking An Angel-Whale
The STEEM House is seeking an AngelWhale investor who would be willing to partner with them. Partnering will buy you into 33% of the owner profits from every aspect of the business. At the moment the Dream Team only earns from the STEEM/SBD earnings from the @thesteemhouse account. You stand to gain much more.
The investment amount they seek is USD $36,000 to cover a two year lease in a comfortable and suitable space. With the last 7-day average of STEEM hovering around USD$1.76 that works out to be just over 20,000 STEEM. As the STEEM price continues to rise, (it saw a 23% increase in the last 7 days of the date of this post) this will work out to less STEEM.
