Life (Android) without Google..

48 hours have passed and happy to report that my android phone is google free and it actually works :)

so after watching this annoying report (

) about how information google collects about us I decide to cut the cord. Luckily my phone supports LineageOS so it was actually a straight forward backup on Titanium and flashed a fresh nightly Lineage ROM, installed Titanium from external source and I am good to go..

Not planning to make this a full Howto as there are plenty of those on the net but just wanted to share my celebration and tell you all that its possible and there isnt much to be missed except breathing some more freedom.

some of the apps that I recommend to replace google:

• Google play store replaced by Aptoide & F-Droid
• Google Maps replaced by WAZE
• Contacts & Calendar replaced by Owncloud and Davdroid

everything else is smooth sailing !!!
