Where were our fighters? Ill tell you... most were sent to Northern Canada and Alaska via the exercise Northern Vigilance which was running that day. Most of the remaining ones were sent to Nevada to be part of the exercise Red Flag which was to take place the next day. The ones that were still in the area to defend the country during the attacks were sent to a dead zone over the ocean just off the East Coast near Florida after being ordered to go there. And the final ones that were still refueling and getting prepped as a final emergency measure were told not to take off and stayed grounded until just after the pentagon strike. All just coincidences of course... YA RIGHT!
