Machine learning microservice for blockchain optimized social media disruption
The suggested post ads on facebook are getting ridiculous.
I'm gonna meet with some VCs, throw out some buzzwords like "machine learning microservice for blockchain optimized social media disruption"
Then I'm going to take the funding, set up a decentralized social media service that takes the best parts of facebook, but with people grouped together a lot like Google+ circle.
Circles would actually be privately owned servers, and use blockchain tech to verify your friends' posts. For it to be truly decentralized, you would need to download a browser plugin/app, or have a 3rd party site host the service that pulls in posts from your friends' circles, verifies them, and delivers them to you in a feed. Like RSS on steroids.
Then I'm going to open source all the code, liquidate the company, and flee to Scandinavia. There is no way to have a profitable social media company that doesn't rape your data for targeted marketing.
it's funny how we perceive our online personae as directly related to our lives. Facebook (and Twitter) have done an amazing job convincing its users of this. even to the point where we freely divulge information.
i believe the real revolution will be thinking about ways to ensure digital ownership of your data. If companies want to market to you, they pay YOU directly for the privilege.
I had posted this online earlier, and was referred to steem because of it. So I tossed this up here, just for the heck of it.
The internet thrives mainly because of freely divulged information, and operates on freely available code. Its beautiful.
