It’s been a little while since we’ve been able to really update people in the way we would like for this fork just because we’ve been held up, by all sorts of things. We’ve been promising to announce the dates and location for weeks now which we get is annoying, we feel the annoyance too!

Our inability to confirm a location comes down to things falling through, repeatedly. All things considered we are nothing short of behind on this project but more determined than ever to see it happen! At this point we are doing our best working around the clock to make this happen and it’s turning out to be even bigger and likely better than it was originally intended. Thanks to Smartcash’s continued and awesome support as our sponsor, we’ve got the means to put this thing on in a big way, so get ready!

We’ve got pretty specific criteria for this the location, like: space, freedom, cost, location (yes, location of the location) and availability. These things have also held us back here and there in our search for the perfect place and we just aren’t interested in settling! We’ve found several places which would be perfect in terms of location, freedom to do what you want and other factors but they’ve fallen through for various reasons making it so we couldn’t secure them despite having the funds to do so and more than enough willpower.

We’ve found what we feel is the perfect place to do this but are again hung up, this time just in negotiations. If all goes well we will pay the deposit and announce our location, complete with video tours and photo tours for you all to see.

In the mean time we’re focusing on things like outreach and getting the website to a better, more functional state. We’ve hired a new web team we know is up for the task, the crew at Autonomite. We’ve been talking to lots of people on topics from what this thing even is to how they can contribute to it and it’s been a blast. Thank you to all of those who have reached out!

We are searching for the the place that gives us the space and freedom to let us really “build the sandbox” so to speak. We don’t use that metaphor lightly, we intend of building a giant metaphorical sandbox with for the fork, leaving you all with the tools and materials you need to build your experience.

Keep in mind that while there will be a main event for this thing, the fork will extend for about a month beyond the conference for those who are dedicated enough to stay the whole time. If it’s happening in the main bay of Acapulco during the month after Anarchapulco, it’s a welcome part of the fork! Come for Anarchapulco, stay for Anarchaforko!

We are here to provide the place and a time to do this thing, what happens at the fork is up to you! There won’t be a speaker schedule but there will be a schedule of events, customize-able and subject to change at any point during the conference, including on the fly. That means that events can be planned and added to the calender event the day they occur if need be, if only to give other interested people a chance to join in on spur of the moment fun. This will allow people to focus on the getting experiences they want most out of this and allow people to focus on making real human connections with anarchists from all over the world, both well known and undiscovered.

The goal is to give everyone that purchases a ticket a chance to take control of their Acapulco experience. It’s to allow those who have something to share the perfect opportunity and audience to do so with. To let anyone profit off of this thing by selling goods, services, or tickets! To allow ideas and concepts to spread to those who want to learn about them!

Every day we have people contacting us talking about how to get involved. Many are coming up with great ideas and have a lot to offer from natural health techniques to philosophical rantings. Some just want to sell their products or their services. Some just want to attend and experience. We even have musicians who want to perform! All are welcome, which is the beauty of this thing.

If you’ve got the desire to share something with the world Anarchaforko is your place to do it. We welcome your thoughts, ideas and dreams for this thing. How this thing goes is up to all of you beyond what we do as far as the location and coordination are concerned. We will do what we can to help your ideas grow here on the ground as well enough visibility.
