West Sixth Brewing – Place to chill your senses

West Sixth Brewing is one of the biggest suppliers of beer in Lexington, Kentucky. It is located in a 100-year-old building called the Bread Box and was founded in 2012. The beer is brewed, canned and bottled at this location and is sold for consumption in bars, restaurants, liquor stores, and groceries. The beer is supplied throughout the state of Kentucky and in Cincinnati as well. The craft beer manufactured at this brewery is famous throughout the state.

This brewing facility creates a wide variety of beers and is currently canning 14 beers throughout the year. The taprooms are located at downtown Lexington and at the farm. Fifteen to sixteen variety of beers are produced at the taprooms along with some small batches of Sixfold and Barrel old series. A team of 40 employees works at this brewery to produce high-quality beers for the entire state. The team at West Sixth Brewing Company also try to work towards creating a social impact for the community. The company supports the work of non-profits through their multiple sponsoring events like Wooden Nickel, Pay it Forward Cocoa Porter, Sixth for a Cause, Pedaling for a Purpose, etc. A lot of events and celebrations also happen at the farm and the brewery. The most famous of the festivals is the Oktoberfest celebration taking place during October. Other events like Halloween, trail run, live music shows, etc. also happen here. Visitors are welcome to enjoy hiking, trail running, and mountain biking at the 4-mile trail at the West Sixth Farm as well.

Visitors who would like to understand the brewing process can attend hours of long tours at the brewery’s taproom. The tours take place on Saturday at 2 pm and 4 pm, and on Sunday at 2 pm. These tours include taster glass, samples of flagship beer, and the details of the brewing process. The long-term employees and one of the owners take the tour as they know everything about this brewery. The tours at the 120-acre farm are also available for visitors. Here you can see the taproom, Hopyard, cider and berry orchard, fishing ponds, etc. in all its beauty. This tour has more details about the agricultural aspects of the brewery.
