Have a fun time at the beautiful Halifax Harbour

Halifax Harbour is a huge natural harbor nestled on Nova Scotia's Atlantic coast of Canada. It is situated in the Halifax Regional Municipality. The harbor is also renowned by the name Jipugtug. The direction in which it runs is northwest-southeast. The harbor is strategically situated at an hour's distance from the northern side of the Great Circle Route between Europe and Eastern Seaboard. The Halifax Harbour in North America is the last outbound and first inbound port of call with transcontinental railway connections.

The harbor is a result of a drowned glacier valley that has been succumbed to the rise of the level of the sea since glaciation. There are a number of geographical regions that are included in the harbor. One of such geographical regions includes the Northwest Arm. It is a renowned downtown river valley where you can find pleasure boats to enjoy a ride on. Another included geographical region is the Narrows which is a passage to the Bedford Basin that stays constricted. Finally, comes the largest part of the Halifax Harbour called the Bedford Basin. It is a popular sheltered bay.

The Halifax Harbour nestles various small and beautiful islands for the visitors to visit and explore. The northern end of the harbor features the largest island named McNabs Island. Additionally, a number of smaller sized islands are situated close to Burnside and Bedford in the Bedford Basin. Another attraction of the Halifax Harbour is the Deadman's Island. It is a small sized peninsula located in the Northwestern Arm. Another small-sized island is the Melville Island located at a distance of 200 meters from the Deadman's Island and is also connected by road to the mainland. This island features the Armdale Yacht Club for the tourists to explore.

Other marinas that the Halifax Harbour features include Bedford Basin Yacht Club, Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron, St. Mary's Boat Club, Dartmouth Yacht Club, Shearwater Yacht Club, and Waegwoltic Club. Halifax Harbour waterfront also features a number of eating places like restaurants, cafes, etc. where you can head along with friends and family to enjoy food with a mesmerizing view of the harbor. Walking along the waterfront can give you a view of the harbor. One can enjoy exploring the place at any time of the day. The duration required for the same can vary as per the itinerary.
