Downtown Halifax is the colorful center of the city of Nova Scotia's Halifax. It is conveniently situated on Halifax peninsula's eastern-central region on the Halifax Harbour. It is a very popular region of the city and serves as the hub for business, tourism, entertainment, etc. Each year it is visited by a number of tourists. Downtown Halifax features a number of hotels, events, festivals, attractions, and many eateries as well as restaurants. The place features a number of attractive and renowned art galleries and museums including Pier 21, The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, and The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. All these tourists’ places are worth a visit by all those who take an interest in artifacts, fine art works, old aged preserves, etc.

Downtown Halifax's waterfront is the location for the Harbourwalk of Halifax. It is a boardwalk of around three kilometers. One of the piers conveniently nestles many medium-sized ship docks. Halifax's harbor walk features a number of tourist destinations including Casino Nova Scotia, Historic Properties, Halifax Transit ferry terminal, several office buildings, and hundreds of stores. There are also a number of public squares where you can enjoy the performances of the buskers. These amazing performances can be prominently witnessed at the yearly Halifax International Busker Festival that takes place in August.

Downtown Halifax features various vendors and small shops where the visitors can shop. It is one of the ideal shopping places when in the city. There are also a number of lavish shopping malls situated in Downtown Halifax including Maritime Mall, Scotia Square, and Barrington Place Shops. Downtown Halifax is also home to around two hundred bars and restaurants that provide an amazing array of worldly cuisines. There are more than sixty sidewalk cafes that stay open during summers.

The nightlife of Downtown Halifax is also worth experiencing. It consists of various music venues, bars, and Casino Nova Scotia. There is also a large theatre named Neptune Theatre located in Downtown Halifax which is forty-three years old. It is the largest theatre in Downtown Halifax. All year round the theatre plays that are professionally produced. There are a number of lavish hotels for the ones who wish to reside at Downtown Halifax. Some of the ideal ones include Marriott Halifax Harbourfront, Nova Centre hotel, Radisson Suite Hotel Halifax, Westin Nova Scotian, Marriott Residence Inn, Prince George Hotel, and The Lord Nelson Hotel & Suites.
