Beautiful Oldest Building; Sacsayhuaman

Sacsayhuaman is a historical building in Peru and known to be one of the amazing buildings which people love to visit. The construction began during the times of Inca Pachacutec government in XV century. There were more than 20 thousand men who worked on this building with the extraction of stones and worked up to the 20 kilometers to make it a building which people want to see until today. There is 40% of the old structure remaining in this building according to the estimations. It is a beautiful site of archaeology and about 4 km away from the main square of Cusco. This place also indicates the pre-Inca culture in Peru, which you can learn and know how they used to live and work. The mountains with having breathtaking landscapes surrounding the area. They are filled with fauna and flora which stand out at that place where you can take pictures with your family and enjoy the moments.
Sacsayhuaman means “the place of the hawk.” It is because most of the birds settle there during morning and evening times. It is a perfect fortress from history, and in earlier times, people used to perform the ceremonies considering it as a center. The structure was made by keeping the military aspect in mind where the Spanish were attacked during the Inca rebellion. You can access this fortress by car within 10 minutes from the Plaza de Armas.
However, if you want to walk, then it will take 40 minutes approximately to get there. You can also take the transportation such as “city tour” to each this site. You do need to have the tourist ticket with you to have access to this fortress. The shape and structure of the building are similar to Machu Picchu with creating harmony around. There are giant stones on the building in a zigzag shape which are 2.5 meters in width and up to 5 meters in length. The south end of the building is 400 meters long with polished walls around it. On the west and east side, there are other platforms and walls which are limited, and not everyone can visit it. You can also have the amazing view of Cusco from the top of the building along with the summits of Cinca and Ausangate. It is an amazing spot to be if you are in Cusco, Peru so makes sure you keep it in your list.
