A worth visiting church; La Compania

in #ambulorbis5 years ago

La Compania is a beautiful church in Cusco, which is in the style of Baroque and is built with perfection. The foundation took place in 1571 so you can imagine how old it could be. The building of the church included many people who took the initiative to work on it. It included Juan Ruiz architect, Jeronimo Ruiz, and many others who helped in making it successful. The construction began in 1619, and it completed after 17 years. There have been many bricklayers and architects who came and went during this time, which caused the delay for the building to stand where it is today. The interior of the church is attractive with having the hybrid style made out of cedar and golden leaves decoration. The central portion of the church is high with having the canvas of Christ Transfiguration.
There are two side chapels which have different styles and high altars with golden color.
Along with that, there is a garden in front of the church where you can sit and enjoy after the visit to the beautiful church. It was a typical place for the Inca to be in the past where they would spend hours and sit by the garden, which also has a small pond. The main ground floor has the broad nave with the circular shaped windows which look mesmerizing as soon as you enter in it. The spherical ceiling gives it an edge and brings back memories from the Inca times. You will be able to see the art and culture from the earlier times of Peru when you visit this church.
There have been many ceremonies held because of the depiction of history at this place along with the wonderful carved art in it. Both the children and adults can visit this church to worship or to view the sites. Down the street near the church, you will be able to find the restaurants and cafes to have snacks. You can enjoy this place with your family and friends knowing that it is worth visiting. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as you will have to walk a lot in this area. It is a place where you will find peace and can also take pictures to make memories. Send pictures to your family in back home and also tell them about the historical building which exists even today.
