My first time to visit this Island in San Carlos City actually it is listed as my second option after Manjuyod Sand Bar in Bais City Negros Occidental. Due to unavailability of pump boat that time we tend to choose Whispering Palm as I already set a vacation leave and I don’t want to waste my vacation we decided to travel going to Sipaway. In the first place I never been to this island and not familiar with the location. Hence by the help of online navigational map and by the power of internet, everything is possible to locate.

This is Manjuyod Sand Bar of Bais City my First option!!

It was a perfect day because it seems like summer and we can’t afford any raindrops as we are on road trip with my best friend Peter’s Big Bike. May 23 I am so excited and I can’t sleep and on that day May 24 we are ready to go as I woke up early at 3:30 am and I was fetched at 5 o’clock in the morning.

Things and food we brought!!!

12 pcs boiled egg in case no available food
Enough money for expenses ( gasoline, resort fees, activity fees, food, transportation “pump boat”
Extra shirt and shorts for swimming
Backpack storage of our stuff
Go-pro
Cannon Camera
Cellphone
Pocket Wifi
Laptop
Power Bank
Helmet
Water tumbler
Candies
Snacks/crackers
Sun glasses
We forgot to bring slippers I thought we have

Before the sunrise we started our trip but before that we had stopped at gasoline station in barangay Mansilingan to make sure we have enough gasoline ( full tank cost 120 pesos)
Then we begin the road trip from Bacolod plying the road access of Don Salavador Benidicto to lessen the travel time rather than plying the north road access that will add up to 2 hours in our time as we are catching up the exact time to reach the San Carlos City because we need to leave our big bike in one of the hardware store where Peter’s wife worked before.

We almost there nestled at Don Salvador Benedicto and stopped at one of the Land mark ( Lions Club ) and take photos with the beautiful mountain background.

We want to go down and visit the newest church but we can do that because it’s too early as the church opens at 9am. So we decided to leave and continue our travel.

Upon reaching the pine tree field where Don Salvador also known as Baguio of Negros next to it is the stop over where you can see the famous waterfalls

As we our on trip I ask Peter to stop if he could see a store or food stole because I felt hungry.
Then, 2 kilometres after from water falls we finally had seen a “Karinderya” “turo-turo” not a restaturant. We had eaten breakfast and because I love to drink coffee I added the native one.
I ordered “Cansi” in Tagalog version “Nilaga” cost 170 pesos and Peter ordered “Tinolang Manok” cost 120 pesos

After 30mins of rest and our stomach is full we packed our things.
From Don Salvador we finally reach the San Carlos City at 8:25 am and leave our big bike at the nearest hardware where Peter had friends. From the hardware the port is not far so we just walk going to the port.

DSCN2886.JPG

That time we wasn’t able to catch the first trip so we wait for a couple of minute until other passengers came.
To reach the Sipaway Island you have to ride a pump boat cost 12 pesos each ( very cheap ) embarking will take 15 minutes not bad at all.

After we reach the counter port we ride “habal-habal” single motorcycle cost 30 pesos per person.
Don’t worry it won’t take long because from port going to Whispering Palm will take 5-10 mins.

The Whispering Palm Island Resort is one of the best places to visit because it’s majestic body of water where it is clean and clear. Truly a virgin Island with hidden beauty away from highly urbanize city
This populates our system and we forgot to enjoy like traveling to a place like this.
Our body needs to rest and it’s not bad to become mischievous like a child who likes to play and enjoy all of the time. Give yourself a time to unwind with peace and serenity. Go together with your family or friends as what we did by my bestfriend and travel buddy. Its not all about work use your money to experience happiness.

If you think money cant buy happiness send me 5,000 SBD and you will see ( just kidding... hahaha... )
at somehow money is a way towards happiness..

The Whispering Palm Mini Zoo and mini Art Gallery

They don’t have that much animals as I wanted to see the crocodile but its hiding underneath the bridge
Even the snake also hid.

We don’t stay too long in Whispering palm because we have plan to travel in Dumaguete City Negros Oriental using the access road from San Carlos going to Oriental region.
Before we left I let Peter sleep before we leave because he drives the motorcycle and he was tired already.
At exactly 11:45 we leave the Island and reach San Carlos City at 12:15

We took our big bike at the hardware and decided to eat lunch at the nearest restaurant within the city proper. As we want to enter at the mall to find other restaurant and buy something inside I notice that the sky is getting darker and the rain is about to drop. We decided to rushed to avoid the rain

Because it’s 1:30 pm we change our plan not to proceed in Dumagute because it will take 3-4 hours from San Carlos as I don’t want us to travel in Mabinay Road at night because it’s high winding mountain road. Peter proposed that he is going to bring me in the well-known century tree situated at Canlaon City. The access road going to the remote barrio where you can find the century is not good at all because it is a rocky and narrow road and the time travel will take 20-30 minutes from the main road.
After the bouncy, rocky, winding and muddy experience I finally saw it

The Century Tree of Canlaon

A wide, big and tall tree “it is called Balete ” in Hiligaynon translation it is called “Lunok” a tree with many roots. I’ve seen this tree image before we get there from the photo gallery of Peter. And many years from the past it was documented in one of the TV documentary show Rated K. It was stated as one of the biggest and oldest tree in the Philippines.
Here are some of our photos hope you like it.

After an hour we leave the place and continue our trip.
It almost 4:30 pm and Peter told me that there is a famous Bantog water falls of Moises Padilla but I decided not go their because it is almost late and the access road is a wide and tall sugar cane field which is not a good idea to come when it’s almost dark.

We move straight and the rain is slightly dropping Peter brought me to a hanging bridge in LA Carlota City 1 kilometre away from the city proper. We took photos and stay there in about 5 minutes and leave.

Before leaving the downtown are we stopped at the Brewedery Restaurant to eat Giant burger and have some take out and its almost dark because its 6:45 in the evening.

Sorry our photo is not a clear image because we use old model phone with VGA camera beacause my camera is already low in battery.

We ordered 10 inches in size each one of us and strawberry frappe as my choice and mocha for peter preference.
Its 7:20 and we both feel exhausted and tire so we decided to go home and I can’t take photos anymore coz my camera, action camera is low battery and trying save the battery of my phone.
Peter hitch me to my home and that’s it we end our one day road trip
It was a wonderful and memorable experience that I wanted to share with you guys.
Thank you for your effort reading my posts.
