My Undesirable Joy (An Original Poem)

A gray worn table in my kitchen
four lonely stools around,
a shabby fridge
a little window
a metal sink.
The floor is filled with empty bottles,
the ashtray on the table
stocked over the top.
Aged smell of ashes
stuffy scent of dust,
a frail ray throws shadow.
The ice tray’s empty
it’s standing on the table,
leftovers of the wine
still inside the glass.
The lipstick stains,
the melted ice,
the warm sour whisky...
I take the tea cup,
the bitterness is sweet...
Another stupid call,
she comes
we go out,
a lifeless day repeated once again.
I am an addict,
it's all the bliss I need...

Very nice poem! It's even more interesting if you read the Poem In "Reverse" Ooops...(Did I just give you an idea:)
I might check that one out ;-)
Doesn't do perfect rhyming but meaning is good. Keep sharing more @serejandmyself
Thanks, i guess I didnt try to rhyme on this one
Looking forward to more!
Its coming! Thanks
Geez, you can tell their is a lot of bots around when this post gets 80 upvotes and two comments.
That's great! The small photos work really well here. Photos are creating an additiional enjambment in lots of the poems posted on steemit, which doesn't always chime with the poem's meaning, but not here: this is just right. Spot on formatting.
good poem @serejandmyself, classic of life!
Very melancholy bordering on just depressing. Descriptions were very nice. Poetry is not my strong suit though I like it. It seems like this is one that needs to be read a few times. The end takes a turn and I found myself reading it again to figure it out. I'm pretty sure that is the point of a good poem. Good job!
Thanks for your comment mate! Glad you liked it
