Jonathon Bahai of Peerplays gives a new update on peerplays testnet, which launches this Monday, September 26th! A reminder that after the testnet is launched will come the scheduled crowdsale auction for 500,000 Peerplays tokens. So more for sale!
Michael Maloney explains Rawbots and the nature of Peerplay's relationship moving forward with its creator. He also lets everyone know that they will soon be able to check their Peerplays balances using their BTS wallet keys. Note, you will only be able to check the balance you will receive at Peerplay's Official Genesis--this is not for redemption of the live network tokens themselves.

Are you a minnow or are you a Krill? Steem's powerup incentives algorithm currently is set to N^2 (with N = Number of SteemPower tokens). So you have 10SP, you have 100 voting weight. However, if you have 100SP, you have 10,000 voting weight. See the difference in voting power?

Magnify it to a whale with 4 million steempower and that account has 16,000,000,000,000 (trillion) voting power! This is a lot of power (and responsibility). But many steemians would like to have a more equal power ratio. @Nonlinearone joins us to in a continued effort to improve awareness through community updates on his lessthankrill initiatives and teach about a power curve that may need revamping. Otherwise it becomes more difficult for krill to feed so they can evolve (and feed those around them). The simple fact of the matter is--a less intense multiplier alone would do worlds to help the power begin moving faster from the top to the bottom of the coral reef, feeding all lifeforms in the process. We speculate that once a meaningful change is found, the price of steem will eventually grow to reflect the higher incentive to move to steem and use it as a primary social media and blogging site.

@dantheman, after @nonlinearone's hangout last week, responded to the concerns with a statement that he and the team were looking into ways to improve this mechanic. @nonlinearone states that he will keep the community updated on future changes along with his thoughts on how viable they are.

@good-karma Joins us to talk about his Steemit mobile app eSteem.
@good-karma talks about the private key safety and how the app has no privileges to see the keys when being used from a smartphone. Additionally, the app is all open source! Download it Here.
He also warns of using unlocked and jail-broken smartphones as they can insert a risk of enabling outsiders to gain access to system data files (where some of your most important account files exist). If you use a jailbroken phone, use at your own risk! Otherwise you can use this extremely safely.
"But Fuzzy, what if I lose my phone?"
Well @good-karma tells us that a special code is required on your phone to access eSteem. So if someone steals your phone they will have a very difficult time accessing the eSteem wallet.
Additionally, a recommendation to only access your mobile application via your posting key is requested. Good-karma asks people to learn a simple security practice: use your posting and active keys on a separate device from the one you use your master key on. Always remember that with great freedom comes great responsibility.
