Good Afternoon Everyone!
Getting to know me...well, that is something. Just when I think that I have just begun to figure out myself, I am asked to answer these questions and am back at square one again to some degree! I am going to be as truthful as possible as it is what I owe to myself and to anybody reading this. I have read a few of these from other people and found all of their answers to be truly fascinating and sincere. I hope to provide the same. Nod to @calluna for the nomination!
1. If you could trade lives with anyone for a day who would it be and why?
I've pretty much come to grips that I am what I am. If I didn't have to be? I'm not sure there is any one person that stands out to me.....my first inclination was to go with some talented creator of arts...be it music or painting or drawing. It would be nice for once to get what's in my head out and on the page in the way that I am actually experiencing it inside. What I tend to produce is a stilted version, and that's ok....but it would be nice......
2. What would you do on Mars for fun?
Ah, so the real question here is what wouldn't I do? Honestly, exploration is the real standout here........if I am among the first. If we are talking full fledged colony already established? Spaceketball.
Seriously though I truly do hope that in my lifetime I see a human on Mars. It might be a bit of a letdown if not.........
3. If you could get yourself anything what would you get?
.........A ticket to Mars!
I am a collector. Mainly coins and comics but I like a good piece of art or artifact or natural history. I was trying to knock out a lot of the early Anglo-Saxon coinage but it started getting expensive. Also a few viking pieces. I would love to add more though.........I might get them out and take some pics and do a write up on them soon as I haven't really looked at them in a bit.
4. Describe the perfect kiss in 3 words
hearts embrace, burning
5. What is the first thing you notice in the opposite sex?
Quite a bit honestly. A full size up. And although I am hetero I do the same for guys as well. I need to know if something goes down for the positive or the negative what I'm dealing with. After the eye test probably wit and demeanor.
6. If you had access to a time machine where and when would you go?
I'm really fascinated by our prehistory. Things just out of the reach of knowing. Our archeological methods can only shine so much light on these eras due to the age, lack of materiel, pre-recorded, nomadic (mostly). Of course that's a bit of a broad period.......much more so than our recorded history as a species.....so to narrow it down? Post Ice-Age.......maybe 9000 BC. Stuff was happening, things were changing, cultures and civilization as we know it first started planting its seeds (literally!). I am not really a religious person but it also seems as if this period begins the transition of shamanic to deistic.....Why?
7. What is the strangest thing you believed as a child?
I grew up on Unsolved Mysteries and In Search Of and the like. My dad was big into UFOs at the time. I loved the Loch Ness Monster. I believed in a whole world of strange as a child.....and still......cling to bits of it, for better or worse...just maybe interpret things a bit differently now.
8. Do you believe in aliens and why?
Complicated.....see above.............Just kidding. I mean, it seems as if it should be highly probable. But, If it was so alien will they even exist in a form that's knowable to us? Sentient cloud of galactic dust? What is sentience? Define life? Complicated.
The Greys of pop culture? I have no proof of their existence nor can I disprove it. There will always be those that discredit believers and experiencers for whack jobs and crazy people and some of them may very well be as such. Attention seekers if you will but I feel, from what I've read and researched that a great majority of these people truly believe these things, abductions etc. truly happened to them. Is it real, is it the subconscious? It is fascinating and I believe worthy of honest and true study by academia.
9. Tell me about something you really regret
I am not one to shy from regret but I also realize that there is nothing I can do to change the past and if I had that time machine wouldn't bother with those things anyways so........Do I regret not having tried harder in school? Do I regret the lies I've told? The way I treated her, him, them? Yeah, sure. Move forward, be better.
10. Do you feel any of the above questions did not make any sense?
It certainly took a minute for me to get rolling but thoroughly enjoyed most of the questions.
