The Alexandria' s Library Project. Updates and a search for delegation. Vol. I
It has been a week since my last TALP (The Alexandria's Library Project) post. We have found some great scholars and librarians(curators) that will help us choose from posts to curate. Unfortunately, at the present moment, we can not afford payment to our curators so we try to limit people who we bring on board.
Also, we will NOT be working with @sndbox as our project was not chosen to be developed with the help of the program. We are still part of the @sndbox summer camp as we, as individuals, got approved for the project. It is a small complication to TALP but it is nothing we, as a team, cannot overcome. And, the projects chosen were truly great so I am not complaining, they deserved their spots!
We will be upvoting and resteeming a maximum of 10 posts every day as our vote is tiny yet and cannot be split at present moment. In fact, we started yesterday and chose two Literature posts to add to our page. Hopefully, we will get up an running soon, to those 10 outstanding posts and after that, when there is more power in our hands (talking about VP here :D), we can proceed to split that vote. We think quality should go over quantity and even though we will start small, we intend to grow surely and stably.
We also have no reputation or seniority restrictions for chosen posts. Why? We are building a library and a library does not discriminate. Focusing on Literature, History, Science, and Philosophy, we hope to create a place where people will come to find information!
Our curators so far
@sneikder - Physicist - Science niche
@smanuels - Writing a sci-fi novel - Philosophy and Writing
@mervin-gil - Writing a novel series - Literature
@johannfrare - Lover of poetry - Literature
The developing team (Watchers):
@ihansunrise – Arts - Watcher of content created in Australia
@jhnmunoz – Surgeon and Literature lover - Watcher of content created in the Americas
@leebaong – Philosophy and Psychology - Watcher of content created in Asia
@lindahas – Writer an Architecture diploma holder (History of buildings) - Watcher of content created in Europe
@maxiemoses-eu – Writing and Design - Watcher of content created in Africa
As you can see, we are looking for someone experienced or in love with the field of History. I, myself, appreciate the beauty of the past but am by no means an expert. Also, the developers of the project will be joining in finding that great content, we want to make sure that our team, even though it will be small in the beginning, covers as many bases as possible.
Rules for curators
- Maximum 3 submissions for a day per person, 15 for a week.
- Each person has to create a personalized message that will be posted on their submitted posts. Must mention the curators steemit name. The message will be posted through the @Alexandrias-lib account.
- An individual’s posts can be upvoted and resteemed up to two times per week.
- There can be a maximum of 25 posts presented in a day, if your post is the 26th, you will have to wait and submit it the following day.
- If there are more than 10 posts presented and approved to be curated per day, the ten best will be chosen at midnight UTC time by the fair principles of counting the votes cast. If there are still too many posts, Watchers will choose the publications that will get rewarded.
- All the approved posts that will not get in the daily resteems can be submitted repeatedly, the following day.
- The ten daily posts will be resteemed and upvoted. Each post will be resteemed separately, the first post at 1AM UTC, second post at 2AM UTC, etc.
- When a curator finds a post, he/she can submit it to #alexandrias-court(English) or #corte-de-alexandria(Spanish), if you want to discuss it first, visit the forums and talk about it with fellow group members!
- Voting on posts happens with reaction emoticons, thumbs up or down. However, you are allowed to voice your opinion to make a case for or against a post to be chosen.
- You can vote only on posts that are in your field of knowledge. Literature for Literature scholars, Philosophy for those adept in Philosophy, etc.
- When posting your post in #Alexandrias-court or #corte-de-alexandria, add the category it fits in with, History, Science, Philosophy or Literature.
Our team has been brainstorming and we have come up with some new guidelines for curators. These are the things that we wish to implement. As the time passes, of course, we will update these rules and add or remove from them.
A personalized message.
Hello, @..............! I am @lindahas, a curator from The Alexandria's Library Project. I found your post in the steemit ocean and showed it to our team. They loved it as much as I did so now your work gets resteemed and upvoted from the @Alexandrias-lib account! We all start small but grow big, our team wishes you all the best.
Here is a link explaining the TALP guidelines
Kind regards,
Linda
We decided to put a little bit so ourselves in each curation effort so each of our curators will have an opportunity to design their own message for their chosen posts! This is mine. I think it is a fun way to make the project more relatable and show that we are real people and not bots running wild :D
Looking for delegation, and payments to curators
As you might conclude, we are looking for delagators and people who would like to join our curation trail. I, myself, have delegated 100 SP to the project and will be manually upvoting the selected posts. It is all I can afford to give at the moment without losing my voting slider. I am invested in this project and believe we can make it great. More than that, we are developing the ideas and setting clear guidelines every day, we have a plan and we are already executing it, we do not just have a dream, we are on it! Our Discord server is up and running, the curators are joining , and the posts are slowly picked up. We are also exploring tools that will help us locate great content and I will be trying to find great posts myself as often as possible.
For the next three months, we will be heavily pushing on finding Delegation for the @alexandrias-lib account. We will be focusing on good work and transparency so our ''investors'' trust us and see the vision we have. Why? Because we want to build a fair system. Where our curators are rewarded for finding great content and the outstanding content gets rewarded with what it deserves. We will keep our expectations high as the platform is full of information. We will be fair and determined to build a curation group that works. After all, resteems cannot be taken back so we will just have to do it perfectly as, otherwise, you will see every mistake we make.
So, if you are interested in delegating or helping in any other way, leave a comment here, contact me @lindahas#2182 or @jhnmunoz#2372 on discord or do it anonymously (as secret as you can be on the blockchain :D). If you want to follow the project for a while and then decide, go ahead! If you want to join the trail, ask @jhnmunoz about it, I have no idea how it works. If you have any questions at all, shoot! If you have advice, I would love to hear it! If you are adept in Philosophy, History, Literature or Science and want to be a curator, hit me up! I must warn you that payment is going to be a thing of a future, though. Right now we are in that vulnerable start-up phase but we are aiming to get all the funds we need in the next three months. Clear goals, remember?
Use the following tags so it is easier for us to find you!
#alexandria-philosophy, #alexandria-history, #alexandria-science, #alexandria-literature, #alexandria-america, #alexandria-europe, #alexandria-asia, #alexandria-africa, and #alexandria-australia.
Have a great day! Today, tomorrow, and forever.
Linda
This is the first time I heard of this. Great initiative by your team, hope to see it grow!
Thank you! It is a very new project that was really born just last week! It will hopefully get some traction and we will be able to make it a thing!
Good luck to all of you!
Thank you!
@lindahas you made it as expository as possible
I m wondering what the #aleandria-africa content will hope to house
I am thinking..........Is it stuffs related to Africa in literature, philosophy, science etc
or a warehouse of African writers
I sure hope it will be! We just need those writers to find out about the tags! :)
oh.............. that should be the first step
