Diving in through the myths, this documentary hosted by a cheeky British doctor engages in cute experiments to find out what alcohol really does to us. Does it help us sleep? Are there cures for hangovers? Why do some people get drunk quicker? Is a glass of red wine a day really healthy? Is there a healthy amount to consume? These subjects and more are addressed by discussing recent findings and also performing social experiments in the pub and studies in the lab. The relation to cancer, polyphenols, age, and food cravings are discussed. Differences in types of alcohol are discussed as well as the new weekly recommended limits as measured in "units". Overall, "The Truth About Alcohol" is an engaging documentary that will help you cut through the myths of drinking to the known facts.
