“You should see a doctor, this is serious” she shouted.

It’s just a little discharge Jane, don’t worry it’ll pass. I don’t need to see any medical personnel.
Chidera looked at her friend; Jane. She didn’t want to go to the hospital despite much pleas from from Jane.
“Please Chi, this is for your own good, trust me. Just go, you don’t even need to see a male doctor, there are many female doctors” Jane pleaded.
Chidera kept looking at her, even after she finished talking. She didn’t want to go to the hospital, she hated the smell of hospitals and she didn’t really like doctors.
Discussing about her vagina to a total stranger was one thing she would never do. She didn’t want anybody invading her privacy. She noticed the discharge on Monday; yellowish and smelly. She didn’t really take it serious, she just cleaned herself up and washed her panties.
But when it kept recurring, she had to tell Jane.
Jane had been trying to talk her into seeing a doctor for the past two hours, but her mind was made up. There was no way she would tell another person about this, not even a doctor; she was too ashamed. Telling it to Jane wasn’t that easy.
She had googled it, she read most of the results that came up.

Five years later, Chidera sits in front of a gynaecologist. Her mother-in-law was giving her hell; it was her second year in marriage without a child. This time, shame had deserted her; she described her predicaments to the doctor.
Dr. Tosan listened attentively to her. When she was done, he confirmed her fears.
