MEN AND STRESS!

This post was supposed to feature yesterday being our Men's Health Monday but for some reason I was too stressed to write it down. Talk about the devil and he shows up! 😏

Anyway, we are still going to give it the full attention it deserves. Stress is something common these days as everyone runs from pillar to post to make ends meet.

Men are the most stressed beings ever! I know some women may argue with this point but it is what it is. Worse still men are the least likely to ever seek healthcare when they are down. You know this popular thing that everyone tells you whenever you complain of pain or being stressed out. They tell you to man-up!

It turns out that it's not every situation that Manning up will save you. Some require you to admit that the man is down so you can promptly seek healthcare providers and get well.

WATCH OUT FOR SIGNS

When a man begins to have symptoms like excessive tiredness, sleepless nights, increased heart rates and poor sexual performance there is definitely fire on the mountain. Please run, run run!!!

The last point may drive a man into depression. Anything that affects a man's sexual performance is going to lower his confidence and self-esteem. If that happens it triggers a vicious cycle that sees him spiralling for the worse everyday. An erect manhood depicts and erection in body and mind. Don't joke with it.

The books say that women are more likely to be depressed. I think that many men are depressed but it's true incidence is underreported. He's ashamed most times to talk to someone about it for fear of being mocked.

The society has set some very high and sometimes unattainable goals for the man. He has to care for every other person but himself on most occasions. That's why diseases like hypertension, strokes and heart failures are markedly more in men. Read 5 Common Killers of Men.

The truth is that every man must learn on their own terms to enjoy life and have fun. The dangers of carrying high levels of testosterone must not distract us from being ourselves. Live life like you are in charge. In the end, no one really cares.

 

EARLY DETECTION AND MANAGEMENT

Stress is the root of many illnesses. Nip it in the bud by living on your own terms. Don't be afraid to speak your mind. Better still, don't be afraid to start seeking medical advice whenever you notice the slightest signs of danger.

Try these methods of Managing stress:

  • Exercise
  • Eat right
  • Get enough sleep
  • Take a deep breath
  • Set limits
  • Prioritize
  • Do something fun and/or funny
  • Put a positive spin on the situation
  • Talk it out with friends, family or an advisor
  • Join a support group
  • Seek professional help

Best way to get out of stress is doing things we like the most when we are feeling stressful.

I am currently going through a stressful life due to arrangements for operation of my wife. It sometimes really crushing myself. But so far ki kicking, Alhamdulillah

I know so many women doing more strenuous jobs than some men, yet still have responsibilities of taking care of the home...
