AIR-CLINIC WRITING CONTEST :THE DANGERS OF SELF-MEDICATION.

Mike and i had been friends for a very long time , and as such i knew his strength and weakness but that doesn't mean we don't get to have a little disagreement sometimes.

Mike had earned the nickname "Drugs" for himself back in secondary school for always having a lot of drugs in his possession. The situation was just bad that you can’t just open any compartment of his bag or locker without seeing drugs of various colours and shape and most of the times he was not sure which drug was which.

Mike had early complained to me that he was feeling a bit different like if he was going to fall sick, I advised him to go to the medical centre in school and complain he replied "i have some drugs to take care of the situation" i gave him the what is wrong with you look and left. Our saturday sport session was over and mike did not show up, i was a bit surprised that he did not showed up so I went to check up on him cos the mike I know won't skip sport session for anything.

On getting to see mike his face was swollen like a balloon completely filled with air and he could barely talk. I and some few people took him to the medical centre and was quickly attended to. We hung around for some hours to find out what was wrong with our friend, later the doctor came and told us that our friend had taken a higher dosage of a drug he should not have taken and warned us never to self-medicate and we should only take drugs according to doctor’s prescription
