Casel got up as early as he could in other to catch up with his 8am lecture in school. He was all dressed up like a gangster; his rag-jeans, and his black hood were all in place. His mom was like 'I don't know what you want to become, son!" and he flunged one of his slangs at his home 'mom, fash' and hurriedly left the house cause he was almost getting late.

While on his way, he saw some of his hommies seated at a joint, and all were drinking and smoking. Casel was like "guys, isn't it too early?" and they replied "comot dey!" (Get out). He laughed and walked past.

Casel wasn't a bad boy but his friends were and they were slowly influencing him. All of Casel's friend were all faithful smokers; they smoked anything that came their way - even garri. He didn't like smoking but his friends were kind of persuading him and he was almost yielding. They got him to try smoking one day but he choked and desisted.

He arrived the school and the lecture had already begun, so he slowly walked in within being noticed. The lecturer Ms. Evelyn was talking on human system and health. At the end of the lecture, she gave room for questions. Casel then asked "Madam, what are the uses of marijuana?". The teacher answered thus:

• Marijuana can be used for the treatment of chronic pain and muscle spasms.
• It can also be used in treating glaucoma, or it may be possible to derive a drug from marijuana for this use.
• It may help control epileptic seizures.
• It may decrease anxiety in low doses.
• Marijuana may help with inflammatory bowel diseases.

She then added that *marijuana abuse has adverse effect on an individual’s health and they included:

• Respiratory problems
• cardiovascular risk
• child development : Marijuana use during pregnancy affects the development of the brain of the foetus and contributes to the behavioral problems in babies.
• Long-term marijuana use decreases an individual’s performance on memory-related tasks.

She then called it a day
