Can Money Buy Healthy Love?

in #air-clinic6 years ago

It’s natural to want good things for ourselves, nobody dreams to languish in poverty. It’s a good thing to fall in love, everyone wants the best in life. Once you decide what will make you happy according to your love map, you would find out that wealth also made the list.

Money is a useful tool. It’s a legal tender for the exchange of goods. There are many things money can buy (including happiness). You must be able to sell yourself first before someone can buy your product.

I want a man who only has to be kind and understanding. Is that too much to ask of a multi-millionaire?

But do you think money can buy you a healthy love? Well, I would try not to be judgmental and remain seated on the fence as I make this post. I am of the opinion that money cannot buy a healthy love, but money can buy love certainly.(don’t be mad at my bias lol)
It’s unfortunate that in our generation, men can do anything in order to achieve wealth (including falling in love perhaps). Life wasn’t fair in the distribution of its lean resources, an average man would have to work extra hard to make money and live a happy life.
The relationships are not left out, the majority of the relationships revolve around the money factor. A mini survey I just conducted revealed this (9 out of 10respondents would prefer a rich partner to a poor one).

love would grow; after all, it is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. If it doesn’t grow in my relationship, I would pray for the Holy Spirit to visit me and gift me with love.

But the question is this would you mind to auction your emotions for money?

Seems the ‘yes’ had the day.

I would rather love to cry in a Porsche car than to be seen on the road with tears. Didn’t you see the assurance Davido gave his girlfriend (Chioma) on her birthday?

A further study would reveal that Money and status are certainly related to the generation of sexual desire and satisfaction. The amount of money negotiated may determine the probability of contracting STD or even the HIV virus in a ludus kind of love, The exchangeable nature of sex is a factor. Sexual desire can be aroused by people imagining themselves with someone other than the person they are actually with, or by imagining the person they are with to be more attractive than he/she actually is, as far as there is money involved.

The legendary Solomon, a fabulously wealthy and wise king of Israel in the bible days could afford the luxury of 700 wives, 300 concubines and probably some STDs too.

The other school of thoughts may argue that money can buy happiness, but apart from happiness, there are other negative emotions that money may not be able to control e.g. grief of a loved one, anxiety fear, and depression e.t.c.
Speaking from an evolutionary perspective - The higher status you attain in life, the more people want to be associated with you. This definitely leads to a confusion between infatuation, lust, and crush. However, people who are in a relationship for money often may be open to love, and may not have an idea of true love.

You would agree with me that it’s a good thing to have money and also a good thing to fall in love, but I want you to answer the million dollar question :

Can money buy you a healthy love?

Money can buy love but not a healthy love
Am reminded of my next door lodge mate comment while we are discussing about Love and money She said "I only need money to be happy, hence i must marry a rich man. I prefer to be in money crying than to be with a poor man believing that tomorrow will be better. Money answereth all thing, so i must choose money over love"
But in my own opinion money cannot buy a healthy love, even when the person pretend she loves you because of the material wealth you have acquired, one day life may play a tricks on you and you loose everything, if that happens will the relationship survive?

Thanks @antigenx for this amazing topic

said "I only need money to be happy, hence i must marry a rich man

Thanks for being real as usual @joagawu. I totally agree with your points

I on the other boob thinks money can buy you healthy love, the possession of money can make a person stay with you and do your bidding and have ur best interest at heart. Just cos you have money! And I don't see what is unhealthy about that, the loyalty in this case is usually very daunting.

It's healthy if you ask me. Especially if you become careful on how you give these lovers this money, you'd have to not give them too much or they might leave with what they've got.

Then again, you can get healthy love for yourself by virtue of your money, because some people love rich people, they love to be with rich people even though their intention is not to get money from these rich people, their belief might just be that rich people are the only people worth being with cos maybe they are more complete human beings, being the definition of "having it all". People like this existed, trust me. They can also provide healthy love.

@nevies
Your Friendly Neighborhood Gangster

LMAO at your introduction

I on the other boob thinks money can buy you healthy love.

Sure both of you had a unanimous decision on this.

you become careful on how you give these lovers this money, you'd have to not give them too much or they might leave with what they've got.

Another rib cracker. Apparently so many people are in for the money than the love.

Your arguments are valid. Thanks for contributing in this interesting topic @nevies
(a. K. A the neighborhood gangster)

@antigenx

Hehehe, but one thing, man I'm not "the neighborhood gangster" I'm the "friendly neighborhood gangster", each can't do without each

Urgh urgh clears throat thank you very much for that wonderful question @antigenx. I would like to support the motion which states that 'money can buy a healthy love'. Backing it up, i would like to say that we all know that without the legal tender, the presence of someone cannot be noticed....in as much as this money we are talking abouts is the root of all evil, it is also the source of all happiness. I'm not trying to support all those who are thinking of going EXTRA MILES inorder to make it in life, I'm simply talking about those who made the money through a genuine means. Yes, it is true that true love still exists. You might see cases like a poor man getting married to beautiful lady that doesn't much money on her. Thats true love. But if that lady is been given the opportunity to marry someone that is richer than her present husband, there is high chances of her agreeing to this. This true love of a thing is even rare in our modern society, that is the work of money. With this little point of mine, i hope you all are convinced and not confused that money can buy healthy love.

LMAO, I love your points. They are valid.

abouts is the root of all evil, it is also the source of all happiness.

Our modern day scenario says it all, very rare to find true love these days. Romeo and Juliet died for love, but today I doubt if we still have any Juliet or even a Romeo left. Life is a struggle and only the rugged survive, love happens after life.

Hello @antigenx

There are many things money can buy (including happiness).

I don't believe that Money can buy happiness. We have heard cases where a lot of rich people committed suicide

Why did their money not make them happy

When it comes to love, i believe that money is Important but it is not the ultimate determinant.

You need to marry someone who is driven and has vision thats what brings money.

Hi @ogochukwu, nice to read your contributions.

believe that money is Important but it is not the ultimate determinant

Well, at least we get to have a common ground. Your points are all valid sir.

L.O.V.E a mystery beyond human comprehension. Sometimes it comes like euphoria that overwhelms individuals that are involved in it.

When the concept of money is talked about in relationship to this subject matter then money becomes obsolete when love is genuine.

So my take on this is that real love cannot be bought with money.

If you think I am telling lies you really need to ask JESUS CHRIST because he never collected money to love you and I (Agape love). And if you want to also know about it Romeo and Juliet will hint you more.

For judas who wanted to do it the money way.. I am sure you remembered his belly busted..

Thanks for sharing.. Love need no money..

I am me @brightfame

So my take on this is that real love cannot be bought with money

But can love be sustained without money?

There are different types of love, the Jesus kinda love is "agape love". Forget Judas... He was in love with money.

How many relationships are sustained only on love? If there is no money to get surprise gifts and spice it up, then there is a high chance of it not lasting. (my opinion tho)

Love backed by money is lust!

That's very true..

Money can't buy love but it makes love grow. Without money, love does not make sense.

True, without money love doesn't make sense. There would be much grumbling😀

Short and precised
NO, IT CAN'T

Give your reasons..

Money cannot buy you a long lasting love because money exists on a lower plane of reality. In human society, love existed long before money was ever introduced. when love becomes dependent or conditional on money. It becomes fake love, even though It will appear to be real at the moment, it can be taken away just as easily as it is given.

In human society, love existed long before money was ever introduced

Well, I don't think I agree with you here, in the past, there existed a means of exchange (a legal tender), so many evidence to prove that even in the bible.

The argument here relates contemporary times, can money buy a healthy love?

You started by trying agreeing to an extent lol.

Money cannot buy you a long-lasting love.

Finally, let me leave you with an image i created IMG_20180505_114135.jpg

well. I meant money in a modern fashioned sense did not exist in early times, but if we want to go back in history there was nothing like legal tender before modern society, human groups existed as nomads and small communities living freely as primitive socialist living off the land, as population grew then you got trade-by-barter exchange, then as civilizations improved then you got legal tender.

and I don't think the bible contain all historical references.

Money can influence, but never buy love!!!

That's true
