#AIR-CLINIC HEALTH TALK: Effects Of Sexual Exposure At A Young Age!

This is a topic that has plagued humanity time immemorial! Today being our Sexual Health Thursday, we are free to delve into it a bit.
Does getting exposed to sex at a young age have any health effects? Aside the religious and moral attitudes peddled are their dangers of this? Does it make one psychologically unstable? Will he/she turn out to be a sex addict? We know that these are questions that you need answers to!
Its pertinent to point out that in this era of internet, it has become increasingly easier for the younglings to get exposed to pornographic materials, images , videos, and books. Even music videos and advertisements are becoming increasingly sexual in nature.
So how do you shield your child from these? Provided that they attend schools, they will still be exposed from their school mates one way or another. The best option is sex education. Tell them the right things so that they may not depart from them.
Early exposure can have many dire effects on the biopsychosocial development of a child. The reason is that they are usually not mature enough to understand what they see or hear. However whatever they are exposed to sticks with them for life.
The youth are very much impressionable. Apart from being impressionable they are curious. They have a desire to know especially those things you shield from them. Taboo is their favorite drink.
Lets delve into the effects of early exposure proper:
1- Sexual Addiction & Pervasion
As a young person who is still very much into education, delving headon into sexual life can be very distracting. They cant control their minds hence they fall into the mistake of demanding it like food.
2- Sexual Abuse & Violence
These same youths are more likely to be sexual!y aggressive. They may have watched violence on tv and think thats the way the bedroom works.
3- Practicing Unsafe Sex
They don't fully understand all the consequences that comes with sex. STDs, HIV is a risk they may or may not know about.
4- Risk Of Unwanted Pregnancies & Abortion
Many adolescents in their puberty rush into sex as their hormones begin raging. They do not know that pregnancy could arise. When it does happen they are oblivious till it becomez quite obvious. Some of them still attempt aborting a well developed pregnancy. Thus they run into great health risk.
5- Develops Sexual Identity Crisis
Sometimes we wonder why some younglings find it difficult to adapt to a particular gender. Early exposure may have scarred the individual as a child. Hence we need to question the childhood experiences and how it may relate to gay and lesbianism.*

now a days our child is not safe from sexual abuse.so we should take care about it too much.for easy technology it affects too much.so its our responsibility to look after our kids carefully.

@air-clinic, thanks so much for bringing up this important topic, early exposure of young ones to sex also causes them to start practicing sex with their own brothers and sisters.

I see depression as another deep effect of sexual exposure at a young age. Some of the victims feel unworthy of themselves especially where their "flowering" was held in high esteem. In several counseling sessions, I've seen victims behaving less-normal. This may result into mental issues and even sometimes, obesity and loss of memory.

As we cant watch the kids all the time to avoid such exposure, its better to educate them regarding sex.
The last point regarding child abuse is really worth mentioning here, spread the message about child abuse. Its the dear ones whom we trust and make our kids prone to child abuse.
