Africaunchained Community Writing Contest - Real Africans D🚫N'T Keep Shut!
As Africans, it's been noticed that we always find it easy to adapt and admit things, even when it hurts us so bad, but why? We never can tell, it could be that, it's just our nature that we find it so easy to admit to those thing which even contributed to the hardship we are going through now, but the bitter truth is just that, even when many admits and keep quiet, the real Africans don't keep shut!
As a Nigerian, I must say I've been worried too about the truth revealed in the above quote. The only amazing detail for me is to realize today that, it's more of a continental pain than National; Africa is worried!
Once upon a time in Nigeria, petrol was sold at N65/litre, 1USD was valued at N167, people ranted and protested against mismanaged resources. Today, the same petrol is now sold at N145/litre and of course same 1USD is now worth N361 yet people are still complaining but nothing ever changed. Sorry, they changed, but negatively!
Years ago, we (Africans) were taken as captives by other nations. We wanted Freedom, hence, we became more United; to both work and walk together.
We were United by slavery but gained freedom in the process!

Afterwards, we refused to keep walking and working together; our freedom bedevilled us! We became selfish and greedy, fighting for our own interest and forgot (cared less) about the affairs of the common good that brought us this far; as long as we're not affected, we never cared!
We became Divided by Freedom(nepotism) and enslaved ourselves again in the process!

As I write this piece, flashes of our Heros past; Nelson Mandela, Martin Lurther King Jr. etc, swept through... And I must say, we need to re-examine our attitudes and learn to keep our minds wide open; Africa is Great!
Real Africans don't just complain, they SPEAK and FIGHT!
