10 World FinTech Events of 2018 - 1st Concluded in Kigali, Rwanda

Yesterday February 22nd marked the end of the 1st biggest FinTech event of 2018.
The very successful Africa FinTech summit took place as planned in Kigali, Rwanda from 21st to 22nd February 2018.

This event paved way for the following 9 Top Fintech Events of the year 2018: 'Money2020 Asia in Singapore' -March 2018, 'ASEAN Strategy Banking Forum in Singapore'-May 2018, to be followed by 'Africa SME Finance Forum in Nairobi Kenya', 'Money2020 Europe in Amsterdam, June 2018', 'MoneyConf in Ireland', June; Efma SME Banking Summit in Paris', still in June; 'Finovate Fall' -USA in September; 'Money2020' -USA in October and finally 'Global SME Finance Forum' scheduled from 5 to 7 November 2018 in Madrid-Spain.

It brought together more than 350 experts in finance and information technology sectors who showcased Africa’s potential in the two sectors and discussed how best financial technology (Fintech) can be advanced.

Also called “Dot Finance Summit Africa”, the event took place at the Kigali Convention Centre and allowed discussions on issues related to financial technology in Africa.

The event also brought together 350 Banks & Financial Institutions, 50 Solution Providers and 30 Speakers; all from 65 Countries.

Amongst the topics that were discussed there's: ‘Creating Value Through Blockchain & Digital Currencies’, ‘Payments Innovation in Africa - What’s Next?’, ‘Winning in the API Economy’, ‘Building a Truly Digital Bank’, and ‘Bridging the SME Funding Gap in Africa’, etc.

It was both engaging and thought-provocative.
