Know Africa 3: That true leader is “You"!
Good day, my friends. Today's piece seeks to highlight the major problem we have in Africa. And ultimately a charge to make a change hence. In case you missed the last two series. You may find them here; part1,part2
The Only Problem Facing Africa is Leadership
For too long a time, the Black Race has suffered the devious distinction of being the most backward member of the human species. The persistent backwardness of Africa and the black race is one of the most mind-boggling phenomena of all time. Africa, home of the blacks, den of poverty, tent of famine, place of hunger, cage of ethnic and religious wars, Mecca of corruption, land of dysfunctional social amenities, playground of political problems, and other plagues terrifying human anguish are unprecedented in magnitude to Mother Africa.
However, it is apparently only in Africa that such plagues are left to fester unchecked, hold and pampered to sway for as long as five hundred years, with no solution or remedy in sight. No other race or people have endured as much indignities and infirmities as the black race have. Perhaps only the Jewish and Chinese people could be said to have come close to the Negro experience, the only difference being that they did not waste their precious little time before overcoming and triumphing by dint of hard work and determination.
Will Africa continue to remain at the background? Why should Africa represent the shadow of the world instead of being a substance? When will Africa break free of its generational woes and anguish?
These questions need a surgical precision solutions and not cosmetic analysis, because for decades, the history of Africa has been stories of monumental disasters.
If Africa is referred to as the “Dark Continent” because of its geographical isolation by Mother Nature with the expansion of the Sahara region, the introduction of Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, which lasted for over 400 years brutally sucked black Africa dry of tens of millions of her most virile, vibrant, ebullient and intelligent youths.
