Yaay..! I’m Taking UK Businesses & Investors in to Ghana

in #africa8 years ago

It’s been quite a while since writing on here, and that’s mainly because I’ve been spending time in Ghana; partly for pleasure, family, love etc. But mostly for business.

I’m based in London but am gearing up to launch a Ghana Investment Tour (GIT) for UK businesses, exporters, importers, executives and professionals who have plans to do business in the country.

Ghana’s known for being a peaceful, hospitable place (its citizens are as warm as the climate), and as Barack Obama testified after choosing Ghana as the spot for his first visit to sub-Saharan Africa back in 2009 - the country is a beacon of democracy and progress in Africa.

It’s also one of the best country’s on the continent to do business. Growth remains robust and investors are already prospering in sectors including retail, financial services, technology and construction.

The main objective of the GIT is to give British businesses, entrepreneurs and investment representatives from a variety of sectors a packaged opportunity to investigate and take action upon their interests in Ghana, and of course guide them in doing so along the way by introducing them to the right people (regulators, stakeholders, potential partners et al) and exposing them to rare insights and opportunities.

The trip is in October, and I’ve got quite task a head of me in order to prepare for it. I organised a similar mission in May 2016, so have a good idea of what it entails (check out some pictures here).

We’ve planned to officially announce the tour before the end of August. ‘We’ being my company, AB2020 and the UK Ghana Chamber of Commerce (UKGCC), which is a not-for-profit organisation partly funded by the UKTI, tasked with forging professional relationships between the UK and Ghana, sharing knowledge, building networks and increasing bilateral trade amongst businesses.

So much to do… From designing logos and marketing material, to confirming delegates and developing bespoke itineraries. Not to mention hotel bookings and visas!

Let the fun begin… Will aim to keep you posted along the way.
