Being a young and inexperienced woman how can I be certain to find my True Love among all the people on earth?

I am 21 years old and surrounded by married sisters who have children of their own. I, alas, have never even had a boyfriend and only now I do feel the urge to meet someone. However, all around me I see unhappy people who had thought they had found their One but eventually realized they got married to unfaithful spouses or abusers.
Can you guide me how to know that the man I find is my True Love among the billions of people on earth?

Dear Shura,

Only when you create something yourself you can be sure of its authenticity and genuineness. When you want to bake a cake you make a list of ingredients, and to be sure of having the specific constituents you go to the market and do the shopping yourself. On returning home you follow the recipe, put everything in the oven and an hour later - voila, you have your cake. It’s simple, it’s rather easy and most of all, the outcome is certain. You will have a cake and not roasted chicken breast.

The same principles apply when you want True Love. The only way you can be sure to have exactly what you want, in your case a True Love kind of a spouse, is if you take responsibility and follow the steps by yourself. You do not ask other people to bring you a True Love type of man; you do not even call on God to deliver him but you take ownership of your life and create True Love! Then, you will know beyond any doubt that you have married the person you created and therefore can mold your relationship as you like.

The first step then, for people who have little or no experience in relationship, would be to prepare a list.

Yes, a list.

Write down all the qualities that are important to have in your future spouse. Detail virtues, beliefs, stances and appearance (if there are any specifics regarding that). In making your list follow the next two very important principles –

Conditions:

1. Do not compromise. If you feel that you strongly want a certain quality, write it down even if it seems unrealistic. The list should include every little detail that you find important, and which abides by condition number 2.
2. Do not come up with attributes, to put on the list, because they seem fashionable or because you thought that you might like them. The list must come from the deep territories of your Self and not reflect the superficial desires of the mind/body.

If you encounter difficulties in compiling the list or if nothing comes up then you are investing too much effort. Twice a day get yourself relaxed in a secluded place, quieten your thoughts and focus on that imaginary One. The images and specifics of him will soon appear.

The list will help you make a clear choice regarding what you want. It will be the first step, and is a necessary one, on the journey towards True Love for you and for whoever looks for a starting point.

Some people would disagree and say that “a list” is not romantic and it strips love down of its cosmic and spiritual attributes. It is better, they would say, to wait and allow the universe to choose the best spouse for you. Arranged marriages are based on that precept and it certainly created some very wonderful pairs. Nevertheless, the journey towards True Love is different and explicitly emphasizes the importance of making choices and creating reality.

When you are set up with a spouse by others you can never be totally sure that you have gained True Love. Only when you yourself take the path of True Love and learn its lessons can you be certain that reality will reflect in your spouse the True Love that resides within you.

Now, I claimed above that such method is appropriate for non-experienced people. Young or adult, it doesn't' matter. It's imperative to begin with a choice.

But what about people who have gone through numerous relationships just to be disappointed time and again. "Where is my true love?", they ask. The irony is that true love has shown itself in each and every relationship they have had. In our current world, there is a misconception about love, about the concept of "the One", about the meaning of "twin soul" and "soul mates". I will dedicate a separate post to that issue. For now, you may want to be with the thought that true love is all around you.
