The whole idea of “you create your own reality” has always rubbed me the wrong way. Mostly that’s because it’s simplistic. Concepts like karma, duality, and the “mind body connection” are far more complex than we seem to want them to be. It takes work to understand them and then to apply them to our lives. Also, sometimes, I feel like there’s some shaming going on here. There’s this insinuation that if you don’t have what you want, your own reality, then you’re unenlightened and lazy.
