- Have you been to a brothel lately? This is the question I asked in my Post preannouncement. It's either not many people read it or they are too shy to answer. Only one person volunteered to answer this survey.

Let's hope more people will be interested in the actual post. As I promised you it is "a full exposé where @steemulator puts his name and reputation online and bares it all!"

So without further ado, let's start our visit! But if you expected some salacious details, you wont find them in this post. Being all SteemIt entrepreneurs we will instead concentrate on a business side of running a brothel, its customer service and logistics.

How do you guide new customers to your business?

When they don't have smartphones with GPS to look you up on a Google map? Many of them are sailors, visiting the port city from all over the world. They may not know the language to ask directions or read the signs.
Solution: you use a pictogram. Strategically located at the city entrance, embedded into the pavement, so even a drunken sailor can see it!

This one for some reason was very popular with the ladies in our group. They even splashed some water over it to see it better:

After you put your customers on the right track, you don't wont to loose them, the city is big and sprawling. So you continue using the pictograms on the street corners to point them in right direction.

We finally arrived

Following a Google tradition we blurred the visitors faces. But if you do recognize your friend or family member, please be assured that the visit was purely for educational purposes!

Onboarding. Introducing new customers to the services provided by your organization

An ongoing problem with the aforementioned sailors: they don't speak your language, don't practice your religion, except it is clear they worship Bacchus. No way you can offer them a written menu!
Solution: using an artist to depict the services offered in the foyer:

Unfortunately, not much difference here from our day to day work environment, same small cubicles!

We are open for business late hours

The signs and pictograms can be easily missed at night. Where vision fails, hearing can help. In the night time to help guide the customers ladies from the establishment would howl like a she-wolf, lupa in Latin. Hence the locals started calling the place Lupanar.

Where is it and can I check the service level myself?

If you are impressed with the institution and would like to experience it firsthand, you cannot. It tragically closed on August 24, AD 79. How do we know that? Says Pliny Jr.:

That cloud engulfed and destroyed the city and it's inhabitants.

All we can see and visit now are the archeological remains of once glorious port city of Pompeii. And although we complete our visit on this sad note, I hope it was interesting and instructive (from business management perspective).
