dMania could be called 9GAG on Steemit, the Steem Blockchain is used to create an app so memes can be shared and rewarded for easily.

Everyone on the internet loves memes, so why not make Steemit the only place you can post, comment and upvote memes while getting paid!

What is dMania?

When dMania's godfather, @zombee saw the posts about @dtube and @dsound, he felt the urge to create something to help the community grow and give the Steem community something unique that hasn’t been created before.
So without any further buildup, @zombee presents to you:

dMania has a very simple interface. You browse through the pictures very easily (see image below).

Steemit is amazing, however, not every content provider is appreciated equally. Steemit dignifies and upvotes blog posts, just like the website Steemit was based on, reddit. If you wanted to try a different approach, you will find it difficult to establish your niche. That is the exact reason we have @dtube, @dsound, @chainBB and last but not least, @dmania.

Many people do not speak english as a first language or simply cannot be bothered writing a blog post. dMania is providing a very easy, user friendly alternative.

And you do not have to stop at memes, anything you are interested in can be posted, very similar to 9GAG. I have seen comments with ridiculously massive upvotes on 9GAG and I will be very happy once I see this on dMania!

The #meme category already exists, but one cannot browse through the memes as if you are on 9GAG or an equivilant meme site. As a lover of memes and other funny internet-nonsense, I could not enjoy my experience of viewing memes on Steemit. @zombee felt the same and decided to create his own 9GAG, here on the Blockchain.

The name dMania means decentralized mania or dollar mania and describes the upcoming trend towards decentralized platforms with direct monetization and rewards for their users.

How To Use dMania

SteemConnectV2 is used for authentication, Steemconnect is used for authentification for Steem apps, originally created by busy.org's team in cooperation with the Steem team. Learn more

The only disadvantage of dMania is you need to use your active, owner or master key to login, apps on Steem should not have access to any of your private keys if used correctly with SteemConnectV2.

A few apps for Steem, busy.org and @utopian-io currently implement SteemConnectV2. The others will use it in the near future, as it is provides extra safety and features.

Not too far back, @clear introduced us all to the his improved sponsor system, for his current project at the time, utopian.io. If you are a Utopian sponsor you will receive a share on every post or comment on utopian.io. dMania has similar features, @zombee has called it The Chosen Ones System. dMania choses to manage the reward system as follows.

Hot, Trending and New

dMania has three categories for memes: Hot, Trending and New. I switched the Hot and Trending category from Steemit, because I think Hot should be more important than Trending. 9gaggers are also used to the fact that a post on Hot page is the highest achievement in life.

Upvoting is very similar to Steemit. To adjust voting power, click on the power symbol in the upper right corner (see image above).

If you have atleast 1 million vest in your active Steemit account you will be able to adjust it. People without the vests are forced to vote 100%.
