Generally, the rule of thumb is no. You should be buying in the denomination of your local fiat currency.
Although, for some larger international corporations you can do this. It's a bit hit or miss. Brands are starting to clamp down on this because it's an accounting nightmare for them. So it is best to check the specific gift card terms and conditions for the brand.
We do also have UK specific gift cards though. 🙂
