It is not SBI that wants to stop but the high top that wants it to end. I noticed I never receive Steem dollar since the last HFs. It is the same with the bid bots they fight now. I read a post of last week felt.buzz mentioned it. I am not part of the top and think it is better not to interfere in the fights about money and downvotes. It does not make this platform a better place.
I leave freedomshift a message via Discord and he responds on it. I read it on Thursdays. It is up to us too I think but
I don't think we can ask everyone to host a contest and let freedomshift pay the prizes. That is not fair. We have to pay it ourselves. If the ccc contest is ran by team-ccc I will pay the prizes from the amount left freedomshift gave me. I don't know if he is able to do it since he only shows up once a week and is busy. The other contest I pay from my earnings so I need to earn more to start a second one. It costs me about 10-18 steem a week since the prize is not the same each week.
I will use the commentcoin tag for it so that is an extra bonus and from now on it will be one winner out of all entries plus I will choose the best entry. Quality and time invested should be rewarded too.
A ohotocontest like olivia08 has are there more as you can imagine. Have you seen derangedcontests? I do not agree with just leaving a picture. There should be made a post out of it. With 3 photos you need less text. That is not too much asked. It might be easy for her to check a photo this way but there is nothing to earn. No one will watch a single photo and upvote it if it is a comment. It is the same with derangedcontests. They all come for a quick post and leave. Only some make a post out of it.
Poetry is a different story.
I think you can hit the 100 or 200 words by adding text about yourself, which poetry your like or...using 3 photos (and add some info about the camera). That is what I did with my post "Food for the soul" a microfiction/zapfic max 240 characters.
CAT can be an option (the more CAT the bigger chance the kittenbots come) but also Commentcoin can. This coin can also be transferred and be given as a prize. If you make a habit of following that tag it pays itself back. No need to buy them unless you never comment.

Hmm if really SBI goes away, that would be very sad. Yah, do not get involved with the politics here. It is disheartening to read all the anger in comments. I am here to share and to give back where I can. I want to be happy here.
Yup, yup, I agree that we shouldn't expect freedomshift to sponsor the prizes. I have told myself that if he stops sponsoring, I will still continue the contest for as long as there is participants. If he sponsors, I will take it and plan for the weeks, mainly for the main prizes and for the member bonuses and my bonus, I am using my weekly earnings to plan for it. Most weeks, my earnings alone are not enough to cover but I try to join other contests to hopefully earn a little more to cover for the costs. One of the reasons why I do not give out much at one go is to be able to continue to give prizes for the subsequent weeks in case the week doesn't earn much.
Yup, I also agree that photos should include some write-up and not just post the photo. I am always puzzled how those who posts just a photo can get rewarded so much. I can understand that the photo they post are really nice and professionally taken but I would prefer some write-up. I think olivia08's photo contest can include write-ups. There is so much that can be written about a photo. Hehe, I have been thinking to join the ZapFic but haven't gotten to it :D
Thank you very much for the CAT and CommentCoin information. One of my fellow needleworkmonday members is also promoting CommentCoin. I haven't collected any yet but hopefully soon :D
