On a walk to find something new

This morning when I got to the city it was below freezing and common sense would tell me I should have gone straight to the office, but I haven't done as much walking as I want to for the start of this year, plus i wanted to get some shots of Something New which is going to be this weeks subject for the Photo52 Challenge hosted by @wwwiebe, and I saw online yesterday a couple of things that were new for me and may meet the challenge so I went for a walk before work, not too long-only about 6K steps but a good start to the day.

This post is not an entry for the photo52 challenge, I got some shots with my camera which may fit the challenge but will look at those later tonight or tomorrow, these shots are about my morning walk

When I arrived in Grand Central I went to the 6 Subway Train to canal street and started walking to the first spot I wanted to check out, this walk took me past the Roxy Hotel as you can see in the first shot with my phone but as I often do let me start with a couple of older shots with my camera I do not think I have shared before.
And since I went by the Roxy Hotel today I decided to start with that

Behind the Roxy Hotel you can see the Jenga Building and Tower one of the World Trade Center

And across from the hotelI saw this bike missing one wheel, with mr.twogoobs paired on it, a quick look online tells me this is a piece or art by an artist who goes by mr twogoobs

On my way to the next spot i wanted to visit i went by this Post office which looks quite grand and worth a shot
