My Actifit Report Card: May 14 2019
A roundabout walk to work passing by the Rockefeller Center
This morning as another grey day with light rain falling whenI got of the train, well it was more like a misty rain, not really raining but you could feel he dampness in the air, but I decided to go on a little detour on my way to the office, which took me by the Rockefeller Center because I wanted to check out a new art piece that I had heard was there, now I did take some photos of it with y Camera but forgot to get one with my phone, and besides this is more about my actifit steps and the walk.
While there I saw on one of the passages they have these bird pieces on display above the bushes, and what was cool about this shot andI didn't notice it when I took it is the real bird flying but overhead above on of the buildings

Now I mentioned it was a bit of a roundabout walk, well I think by now you know most of my walks I tend to go roundabout and not direct, but i used the outside walk tracking again this morning to create this map which shows how round about it was

Now that isnt all my Walking for the day Just on my way to the Office, I did some walking during the day and was running around picking up a few things this evening as well
As I said it was a damp morning and this shows in the next photo, this is one of the News station, NBC I believe and they have often big crowds outdoors to watch the show and be seen on the news, well as you can see in the next shot there was not many people outside there today

I mentioned the New Big art piece which I cannot share today since i did not get a photo of it with my phone but it was one of I think 21 Pieces on display at the Rockefeller Center as part of the Frieze Sculpture Exhibit, I took shots of many of the pieces with my camera which will be in a future post, but this next shot you can see a few of the pieces.

Now many may have visited the Rock over the Christmas New Year period and seen the ice skating rink, bot for the rest of the year it looks quite different as this next shot shows it is a seating area for a restaurant there.

Yes! The birds are so cool! It was clickbait!!! I couldn't believe my eyes, and I should have listened to them.
You really do a fair amount of walking before you even start your day, don't you? I thought I did a lot, but, just looking at yours, I don't hold a candle to it. I have been guilty of standing in the NBC crowd, but, the best was Good Morning America when they had a heart for Valentines and focused in on the crowd, so they took shots of me twice while I was there and my mom saw me. Which was kind of cool. :) Here she thought I was working.
They also have the tables but, up above in the winter. I like it in the summer months to sit and grab a bite of overpriced, yet oh-so-elegant lunch. The pieces already look pretty cool, so I can hardly wait to see them and the Prometheus Statue - very cool.
You outdid yourself today. You made me tired!
Thanks for being the best guide ever for @steemusa!
!tip
First off I think I may be the second best guide but not the best :)
Secondly thanks for the tip :)
I have seen the crowds at both but never been in the crowds I hate crowds and don't want to be in front of the camera even in a crowd :)
But that is so cool your mum saw you on TV ;)
this morning I walked 1,7 Miles before work, not huge but not small either i guess, I normally do at least 1 mile before work, but somedays if its a nice day its a lot longer
I love your roundabout loopy walking trail. :D
The past few years they started putting a mini-rink downtown here (Denver) too, but I've never skated on it. I should next winter, I miss ice skating. Last winter I wandered around in a Yule market downtown, and I somehow missed the ice rink. I'm honestly not 100% certain where they put it, I just have seen the signs for it as I'm walking. XD
Where I grew up there was no ice skating rinks and I only ever tried it a few years ago and I discovered I do not have as good a sense of balance as I thought I did
These days I am happy to watch others skating from the sidelines lol
And my mornings walks I go all directions lol
I didn't get to try it until college, when there was actually a class I could take for gym credits! I loved it. I had always wanted to learn since I was really young watching the olympics.
I can't do anything fancy, but I have lots of fun. ^_^
Having fun is what is most important I believe nit everyone can do the fancy things
Thanks for the resteem appreciated
Like everyone else I also thought the birds for real. :-)
You have again impressive count of steps!
The birds are a cool addition there I hope they are permanent and stay there
Yesterday was a busy day for me and hence a lot of steps
Before I opened your post to read, I thought those were real birds you had photographed. :) how realistic till you are close enough to see the wires.
I had to google the Prometheus statue to see what it was made of. It is so bright !
they are a cool feature they have added first time I have seen them I am not sure how long they will be there and if there part of the exhibit on there at the moment
Yes with the spot light son it on my phone the Prometheus statue came out to bridge, hopefully, the shots I got with my camera will be better
That's quite a walkabout today @tattoodjay! And, quite a lot of art and misty mystery. I hope you can enjoy some sunshine soon enough! Nice actift count!! Keep up the great walking. Steem on!!
LOl Yeah many walk quickly from A to B, I tend to go from A to J to f to M and then eventually to B :)
The forecast says we may even see the sun for a while tomorrow I am looking forward to it :)
Nice! Do you know your Chinese zodiak sign? I am curious to know! I enjoy your adventurous attitude! 🤹♂️ #funandgames
I think I am the year of the Rat 🐀 is that what you mean
I think I should have been monkey 🐒 😂
Next year is your year 😉 i do think rat is fitting now that you say it. But, i have to be honest.... i had the notion you're a monkey 😂
LOL really I dont think I have ever looked up the characteristic of the animals, but I will take your word for it
Maybe I have picked a good year to retire then :)
I know noting, it's entertainment to me. That means Your yoga practice is coming soon! That's great news 🤹♂️🌱🐝
Ohh yes 160 more working days left if all goes to plan and I will have plenty of times for lots of things 👍😎👍
I've never seen the skating rink in the summer without ice! That is cool to see. And I love the birds! I can't wait to see more!
I thought that may be the case the busiest time of the year for the Rock is the winter months, so I guess many had not seen it like this
I've been there as early as Halloween, but it already had ice on it then. I've never seen the tables.
I forgot how early they set up the ice rink
Most of my NYC trips were after Thanksgiving as we combined the theater with Christmas shopping, but being there in the fall was such a beautiful time. I do think you should take an evening carriage ride through the park, just so you can say you did it!
It’s nice to see anytime of year and yes I must stay into evening one day and do the carriage ride fir sure
Have you done the tour at Rockefeller Center? It was fun to see the TV studios and all the artwork in the building.
NO I haven’t done that yet, but its somehting i for sure should do
At least you don't have to worry about any bird droppings from those birds! Kind of a neat piece. You definitely never run out of fun things to photograph!

LOL yes that is true, and a huge bonus, I have been the target of birds a few times in the city LOL, so it was safe and not a worry to walk under these
and yes thats the cool thing with NYC there is always something new to see :)
That is the center like I remember it. I like that first photo. It looks like it could be an album cover.

I guess how you remember is dependent on the time of year you visit there, I must admit when I saw the birds the song Free Bird did come to mind
