Living with purpose in our final race

Rene had a really fun time.
If it was to live a life with purpose and meaning for her, cooking is going to be one of them.
She went out with our daughter for an hour of banana leaf hunting and this was her prizes possession.
Finding a young beautiful leaf that is taller than her made her feel she was in a magical land like Alice in Wonderland.
And especially in relating to banana leaves, this brought back fond memories of her childhood days growing up cooking with her mom as she was deprived from schooling because her family was struck with poverty and not everyone gets to go to school.
Yet in many different blessings in disguise, she received this set of traditional skills and creativity all because of her time with her mom where everything has to be cooked from scratch, like many homesteads do.

Even with tired body and aching bones, she taught our daughter her way of making one of the traditional desserts that is hardly made from scratch these days, while store bought ones are just not as good.
Even with painful shoulder blades she was beaming when they came home with a full load of treasures from the nature.
This is what life is all about in the end. When you do what you love and you are still able to do so, your life has a solid hold with purpose.
I would love to follow them and hunt some banana leaves, clearing up paths so that my two girls of the house do not need to face mosquitos.
Now, I am the one sitting at home, waiting eagerly of their catch and listen to their stories with my beginning to frail body, and recoving from flu.
But God is still good.
Even every day I am closer to "home" and steps can be harder to take, God is still good.

Even though my hands wobbled and my work is slow, I can still help some out.
Depending how your perspective in your purpose you have different reaction to it.
We ended up completing our respective tasks nearing midnight.
With exhausted bodies, rewarded with a very good night sleep.
It was a very purposeful day for Rene and I after all.
