My Actifit Report Card: November 8 2018
Today we did our walk at the Otay Ranch Mall in Chula Vista.
This is one of our favorite malls as it has lots of walking space and lots things and activities for us to look at.
Our walk started with the kids begging to get into the car shaped strollers but mama said: “no!” We were there for some exercise, and they barely fit in there plus they cost $5USD.
We strolled down some shops and let the kids spend some cash that was burning a whole in their pocket.
We continued to the water garden and I looked the other way while the kids ran through and got their feet (aka all their bodies) wet.
They climbed on the decorations and then Mama nagged begged and pleaded for them to keep walking.
We walked past the giant succulents...
Then it was time to play in the fountains.
Walk walk walk and then time for Harry Potter Style Chess.
Check Mate. Mama wins again.
At this point the oldest hadn’t rid herself of her pocket change, so she treated us to Hot Dogs on a Stick and a Lemonade. Mama had a cheese on a stick instead.
After a while spent at the food court we began our walk again to our most favorite store in the mall. The bookstore.
We stopped in read some nice books.
Esme, Camila, Taylor and the other fairies now have reversible sequins on their covers which make them nice and shiny, but no, I’m not buying new ones! (But my son did buy himself a little something.)
We added a cool Flash book to our Christmas list.
Had an “annoying” talk about how Feminism is not for Native Americans (machismo comes from the colonizers, we are Matrilineal)
Giggled at some book pages.
Played with some dragon puppets.
And found a new favorite author ❤️❤️❤️
The book is filled with beautiful art.
Then we walked back to our car and drove back home. It’s daylight savings time so it was super dark out.
Those lights on the hill are Tijuana, Mexico. That damned border separates us and keeps me from hanging out with my grandma on a daily basis. One family, 15 minutes away from each other, yet in different “countries” with heavy patrols and high walls.
I remember when I could cross the border just by saying: “US Citizen.” Now I need a passport my kids need birth certificates and the waits can be HOURS.
And to keep who safe?
The colonizers of course.
That was my walk today. This is everyday life at the US/Mexico border.
Beautiful huh?
Fit and beautiful family
That looked like a lot of fun 😊

Sounds like you had a fun filled day. I sooo miss bookstores!
I bet that by the end of the day the kids were tired. Looks like they had a nice fun day outside. ;0)
How nice that you exercise using the application with your children, it is impressive that you live 15 minutes from your family and can not see them because of the border issue. regards
