A work-related Ulog today...

It makes me think of a recent client meeting and how different an experience it was. I’m protective of the clients I personally look after; I hate to mislead them. At one point, our Director threw out a number for an estimate on how long something would take. As the Senior Consultant on this account who worked closely with the client, I did not appreciate this. My own manager knows never to throw numbers out there or say things like: “That’s easy. Linny, it’ll only take you an hour?” He’s done that before and we’ve had words. He knows I’ll get really grumpy.

Anyway, I must have had a horrified expression. So this client, who is a lovely lady, looked at me after hearing the Director throw out a number I was less than impressed by. She smiled at me and said:

“Don’t worry, Linny. I won’t hold you to what he said.”

Lololololol.

When our Pre-sales finished his presentation, she again looked at me and asked:

“So Linny, will it be easier?”

Clever lady, putting me on the spot like that.

I’m not sure I gave the best answer, but I didn’t lie...
