My Actifit Report Card: July 31 2019
Aside from my daily activities and shopping, I walked the route of Puguis to Tam-awan today. This is an alternate route that you can take from La Trinidad going down to La Union via Lamtang to Naguilian Road. If you want to avoid heavy traffic, then this is an advisable route.
Join me for my Wednesday walk. #wednesdaywalk is initiated by @tattoodjay
This is a view of the valley as seen from this side of the valley. The mountains that you see are part of Mt. Kalugong and Mt. Yangbew.
This is in memory of the devastating effect of one of the strongest typhoons here in our place that happened in 2009 claiming hundreds of people, 77 here in this site called Little Kibungan. There is still some trace of the landslide and it's effect. However, most of the residents still continued to live here and will not relocate even though it is still said to be landslide prone area.
This is a nice idea of repurposing old tires. Make it colorful and useful.
Here is another view of the valley from Little Kibungan.
This is a route less traveled so it is not that busy. I am along the protected forested area at this point. We used to plant trees here either from school or work activities. I have not visited this area in a long time and I am not sure how are the trees that we planted whether they survived or not. There is a forest ranger house here who takes care of the place. There is an issue about ancestral land claims and encroachment.
The state university also has its own protected area which helps in research and development and in growing trees/plants such as coffee.
There are lots of abandoned vehicles you see along the way.
This is along the Lamtang-Puguis-Long Long junction. From what I remember the last time I took a photo at this spot is that there were no houses then, only the mountain ranges and trees. Sad that there are lots of structures now.
On this spot you can see Mt. Cabuyao and Tuba and a glimpse of the sea down in La Union.
I was almost at the end of my walk so I took my breakfast at this restaurant.
Read about it here.
My walk thus ends here. This is Tam-Awan village, a cultural village and home of local artists. It is a popular tourist spot here.
By then the rain started to fall. What a perfect timing.
All photos are mine.
