My Actifit Report Card: September 30 2019 - Meet The Flintstones!
10K on a resting day!
Yesterday I played Water Volleyball for many hours so today I'm just resting. I'm not sure how I got this activity other than from getting up and moving around to music when I take breaks from working at my desk.
When I was searching on Bing earlier I noticed that today, September 30th is the 59th anniversary of the first episode of The Flintstones. That show was the first animated primetime sitcom. It featured Fred and Barney, two working-class guys who each had a modern Stone-age family. At the beginning it was just Fred and Wilma Flintstone, and Barney and Betty Rubble. Later on, the Flintstones had Pebbles and the Rubbles had Bamm-Bamm.
In one episode Fred was supposed to be getting a famous entertainer, Rock Roll, for the ladies show but at the last minute he couldn't make it so Fred went on stage in his place to sang the hit song, the Bedrock Twitch. Here's the full length version of that song with you may not have ever heard even if you've heard the original from the TV show.

I didn't know that the Flintstones was the first animated primetime sitcom. I know I watched thousands of episodes and reruns in my lifetime, lol. I'll bet you did have to rest today after all that WVB, I know you had a great time at that. Too bad it's over for the season.

The Flintstones was one of my favorite shows as I was growing up. I was shocked at the movie version. They sort of ruined it for me. That was a show that deserved some good feature films adaptation and better live-actions too.
