Krakow and some closing thoughts of Steem Fest

I waiting at the Frankfurt airport for my flight to Athens and I have a lot of time to kill.

So , I will share with you my impressions of Krakow and some closing thought of Steem Fest.

Generally, Krakow is a beautiful city. The walk by the river is relaxing and it can give you the time to think about things.

There is a more modern part of the city, which is in a typical eastern European fashion and provides nothing to remember and there is the old city...

The old city of Krakow is the closest thing we have to a time travel. Enter this location and you immediately go back 300 years and more.

Old houses, churches and the palace of old Polish kings are very well preserved and you get a feeling that you are in another age.

Of course, in the central square, which is the most touristy location of Krakow, there are many modern cafes, restaurants and shops, but I don't think this reduces the whole mediaval atmosphere of the city.

And let's talk about Steem Fest. The Blockchain is evolving, maturing in my opinion. We are heading to a more business/entrepreneurial direction and this makes me happy and confident about the future.

Most of the presentations were applications and this was the main theme. If we want mass adoption and in the end higher value of our Steems there have to be applications that people will use.

These apps have to be easy to use and the users don't have to know all about the Blockchain and how it works. They should be using the app and be happy with it. I saw and talked to the developers of many interesting projects. Not all projects will be succesfull, but I believe at least a couple of them will bring many people to the Steem ecosystem.

And another crucial point is the business model of each app. The community supports projects through delegations and upvotes, but the developers and their teams have to find a business model that can be sustainable outside of the Blockchain. This will produce many thriving businesses and this is what we want to achieve.

And one thing about the people and individual content creators. I was amazed by the diversity of people that attended Steem Fest. I love meeting different people because this way I enrich my model of the world.

For example, this fair lady that performed at Night of Steem. I can't right now find her username, but it is great that she has the opportunity to bring her art to the world and get something back. In the future, it will be more difficult for creatives or content creators to stand out and have a decent payout, but I believe it will always be possible to create your own tribe that will support you. In the future, Steemit or whatever replaces it, will have to be integrated to a complete social media strategy and be one of the methods of monetizing your content/business.

But, until then thanks to the Steem Birds that entertained us , thanks to all the speakers that inpired us and thanks to all the people that are the life force of this exciting Blockchain.
