Leftovers chair

I don't really like to throw away old stuff before dismantling it and making something new out of it. Don't get me wrong, I hate living like a hamster, where nothing gets thrown away and old stuff just keeps piling. But making something out of old stuff is good to keep your hands and brain sharp and fantasy flowing free. Even if it is to build a cool structure. I often build cool tiny statues out of the magnets from old clients' hard drives before I throw them away.

Since we recently got new kitchen furniture, I got to dismantle the rack that I built to temporarily hold up the sink. Before throwing these pieces into the garbage or fire, I took a quick 3-minute brainstorm and the idea was born. Simple yet necessary, I want a chair for the garage and I don't think I want to buy anything for that.

So a simple matter of drawing plans, some sawing (believe me or not, I only own a handsaw and shit still gets done) and screwing, it's already taking shape. Some more of the same, sawing screwing, sanding and then staining and it'll be good to go. Or stand. In the corner. In the garage.

I'm gonna have to continue this on another day, but I still feel good. Waste not where possible.
