My entry to the Actifit Plank Competition / basic Plank exercise.

in #actifit6 years ago

well i dont know what to say over here , since this is a competition entry, there isn't much i can say, but i will use this space since i know there are a lot of steemians out there who dislikes single video post, they say it is low quality... but oh oh well.

plank

Anyway, Plank is very important exercise, it develops core strength, and core strength is the most useful one you can have. for it is a foundation for all the other exercises.
abdominal muscles is at the center of the body and they keep your body upright, they are very important
let's just say this, if you lack core strength you will fatigue faster,
the chain is as strong as its weakest point.

weak abs ,reduces number of reps for pushups no matter if you have big arms or not,
if you have weak abs, you will collapse doing pushups.

weak abs lead to chronich lower back pain.

it is a static exercise, everyone can do static exercises, the so called isometrics.

evaluate

im not the most fittest person out there,
but i like to approach things with my brain first before i jump into it wholeheartedly.
by this i mean. you dont even realize how many injuries people get daily from doing simplest of exercises
listening to " so called pro's" may land you in hospital, there are many masters , but only few real masters.

proper form

proper form is the key for successful exercise.
study for yourself from multiple sources and make your deductions accordingly after you have tried it on your own skin.

0

never sink in your shoulders.
dont let yourself slouch between your shoulders.
keep your head aligned with your spine.
just as you never sink into your shoulders when you do pushups.
active counter force to keep yourself in one spot this will prevent you from soulder injuries.

1

lower back should be straight

2

butt must be tucked in. in order for the #1 is even possible to achieve
research anterior pelvic tilt, know if you have it , deal with it if you have it.
most people have it. and dont know that they have it.

3

have much will power
oh many ideas will come to your mind.
WHY AM I DOING THIS?
AM I DOING IT RIGHT?
WHY AM I DOING THIS AGAIN?
WHY DO I START TO SHIVER.....
I SHOULD STOP DOING THIS
IT IS NOT WORTH THE EFFORT!
I SHOULD REST FOR A BIT.
I sHOULD HAVE NEVER STARTED IT

But, let me tell you this, those who persist WINS.
dont let temporary relief stand in your way to achieving great milestones.

IF YOU WILL STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR GOAL, YOU WILL REGRET IT LATER
so keep on pushing through anything in order to reach your goal.
if you will stop in the middle of the exercise your efforts will go in vain and you will not gain anything.

4

have patience, and focus on breathing
TRUST ME your body is capable of doing more than you feel you can, its just todays society its easier to just give up and start something new.
or give up and eat PIZZA.

5

ignore yourelf
who is the commander of your body?
you or temporary relief that you will get when you give up half way.

6

not for numbers.
when you have proper form you can achieve more, so work on your form the most, dont do it for the numbers,
the numbers will grow as you strive to achieve the perfect form.

show your doubts who is the boss.
you will see, you will even regret the thought of giving up once you are finished with your goal.
and you even wish that you could have done more.

MIND

most of you realize this by now, that this is as much as mental feat as it is a physical feat.
no one is ready to do anything, just do it and adapt.
discipline the mind. you are occupant of your body, you are not your mind.
you must control your own mind otherwise you are under mind control.

no one else

no one becomes a master just like that, although some has the talent,
it all comes down to you. how bad you want it.
put in the work.
dont be discouraged, keep on practicing. so you could reach your goal.
you will reach it if you just keep on trying.

With that all said, i put a disclaimer here!
i am NOT a trainer of any sorts, my words about certain fittness elements are coming from my own experience
my advice is not a professional one, use it at your own risk, i am not responsible for any injuries you might have.

and thats it. i guess. i bet there more that i should be mentioning. but this will do for now, maybe ill update this later.
well, pardon the sweatpants, and the neck missalignment with the spine at the end there. im still learning to control myself. i was watching if it was still recording. lol.

off topic
Do you know any source of where to get steemit notifications. busy.org i use does not update notifications for now, and im blind without them lol.

anyone?

I feel you. I was relying on the notifications from busy as well and they haven't been coming through. I remember hearing about @ginabot being pretty awesome.. from what i innerstand that's the way to go...I am gonna look into further and start using that I think <333 :)

Well done! Damn, 10 minutes, you're definitely up there in the winners category. We shall give it a go (we think), but we struggle with the 120 seconds plank we have to do to finish off the Ab class at the gym on Tuesdays in Bangkok!

oh hey im sure, someone will do 30 mins in this challenge.
but you, keep on practising to reach your goal. this is not about the challenge but about willpower, stay strong and you can reach 5mins if you only persist!
the best ive done in plank is 15 mins. my goal is 30 minutes. ill reach it one day im sure, ill just have to be steady about it.

if you say Bangkok i say its HOT!, its easier to do plank in cold place. cold air recharges the body as it heats up tremendously from plank.

Yea it is about persistence and practise. You'll get to 30 mins plank one day! We'll try or at least one of us will, this plank challenge over the weekend. We won't get up to 10 mins but just to get involved in the fun and stay healthy is good enough reason.

I think I'll be able to superart the 10 minutes

LET'S DO THIS! more planking more power!

WOOOOWWW
this is huge!!!
Great job!!!

Omg...that’s a great effort! @doomsdaychassis, is this the one to beat?!

thank you, thank you.

You win :) 10 minutes and a great post!!!

hello there... i dont think it will be that easy as i can sense, that someone will do even 30 min plank at the very end.
my prize is already with me, a tight core, which gives stability to my every movement that i make with my body.
Have a lovely day Marianne.

good attitude!! And you are right. There is one more day to go :)
