Running Project - Sunday Trail Run
It is a beautiful day here in Maryland today, perfect for a trail run. It was low 40s when I started, but I had to stop a couple of times to remove layers of clothing as it warmed up. After yesterday’s deluge of rain, the trails were a muddy mess, so I took my hiking poles to give myself a couple more points of contact with the trail. It turned out to be a good upper body workout as I used them to power up the 460 feet of elevation gain.
The little creek below can often be just a trickle, but today was running pretty strong.
Today’s run started at the Landing Road trailhead and went down the Cascade Falls trail (blue) until it connected with the Ridge Trail (Orange), which runs along the ridge above the Patapsco River in Patapsco Valley State Park. From Ridge, a steep uphill climb connects to the Morning Choice Trail, which loops back to my starting point.
It wasn’t a particularly fast run, but I got a good aerobic workout with the hills.
I hope the weather wherever you are allowed you to get outside and enjoy your Sunday.
