It's been a while...
Electrical work flat out scares some people. I respect it, but I don't fear it. As we get work done on our house I keep finding old wiring jobs that just.....boggle my mind. I may not have the code book completely memorized but I am familiar enough with it that I can spot a "bad idea" and know how to do it the right way. As such, I have installed an entirely new electrical service in our house. None of the old wiring, receptacles, or switches are being saved or re-used. It's all new. And it meets code. Sometimes the new hardware is going into the old locations, sometimes its going someplace new. The lower left is a new spot. The lower right is an old location. Even the light switch is new. (ya, the wall sockets need white plates....or a paint job....) I still have to gut out the bucket for the light fixture, but I did manage to get the new wiring pulled up to it.
That finishes this wall. Now to get the other one done. That side gets a new baseboard heater.
