The healthy start to the New Year

has continued, and we at at the 14th already 😛

No beer since the 27th December ✅

Some form of exercise on all but one day since the 1st January ✅

And I can both see and feel the change already. That may sound rather swift but if you replace 2/3 weeks of booze with 2/3 weeks of no booze then the calorie deficit is huge - probably 1000 - 2000 a day. And then at the same time introduce 300/400 calories of exercise burn, as apposed to 0 previously - that's something like 20,000 calories either not consumed or burned.

So whilst I've not been posting much of this for fear of becoming a broken record (#selfdefense anyone?), I'm pretty proud of what I've achieved thus far.

my demise started 23-24 december with christmas, then slovaks celebrate name days and the food is healthy (goulash, kulen, baked potatoes and sausage, cakes and cookies...) and two big name days are strategically set, one 27. december one 3. january, so you have a few days before and after new year celebrations. But it does not stop there, because i am half slovak and half serb, we also celebrated christmas on 6-7 january. now i have another name day tomorrow and than i should really stop eating :D

Damn, sounds like you have a grueling Dec/Jan and should probably plan to kick-start your health goals at the beginning of Feb!

Proud of you, I stopped drinking except for occassional sake or organic red wine ages and ages ago. I got sick of stomach aches and head aches. Plus CBD at least in the states where is legal does the same thing but better.

Nice job! I have been exercising five times a week since before Christmas and I have not really noticed a difference. I haven't weighed myself, but I don't really think that would be much different. I guess I have noticed that I am a bit more flexible than I used to be, but I was hoping by now my clothes would feel a bit looser and that hasn't been the case.
