Emotional Struggle of Acne (REAL PEOPLE'S STORIES READ OVER SAN DIEGO DRONE FOOTAGE)

in #acne7 years ago (edited)

Hi, everyone :)

A bit of a different video today but one that I am so happy to share because it means a lot to me. One of the biggest struggles in my life has been with acne, which started at 15 and got progressively worse and worse over the years. By age 18-20 I was having my absolute worst cystic acne and a lot of it was aggravated by my huge intake of dairy to bolster my caloric intake up while going to the gym and weightlifting. Here is a shot of my face not at it's worst

I create content about acne that helps people figure out the cause of their own acne or to find treatments that can help their active acne or redness and scarring. I also create content about how to embrace and love yourself because I think regardless of a clear face or not, if you never learned to love yourself, those self esteem issues acne caused will never go away.

Well I have always received comfort from hearing other's stories about the same thing I'm going through, whether right in the middle of it or past it and looking back with hindsight. So I contacted subscribers of my channel and asked them to post their acne and accutane stories in hopes to help people feel more comfortable and not feel alone about what they are going through now.

If you are going through acne, I hope this video can help you and if you aren't I hope that this video helps you understand the plight that acne can be! I hope you all enjoy the scenery of San Diego, this was shot when I first was experimenting with my drone!

Thanks for watching and supporting Steemit family! See you in the comments for some upvotes and replies! :D

Hi Brain, great post. I used to and still sometimes struggle with perioral dermatitis, a rash around my nose, chin, and eyes. Like acne, it caused a lot of discomfort and also lower my self esteem. This made me stressed, which just made the rash worse. You are 100% right about needing to lover yourself first or it will never heal and thats what I chose to do it is finally getting better!

Thanks for posting!

(p.s. my boyfriend finds a lot of inspiration from you, he initially followed you on youtube about vegan stuff. A few months ago he got into crytocurrency because you and he also heard of steemit from you and he suggested it to me. now here I am. thank you!)

Great video man! I grew up with bad acne myself too but I think it helped to build me up as a person. Having to maintaining confidence in myself with a face full of acne was difficult but a great learning experience. Also love the drone work, its become one of my passions recently too!

So proud of you dude! Keep it up :) you look amazing now!

Awesome content! So important to talk about this topic. It is still a taboo in our community and like you said a problem for dozens, hundrets, thounds, millions of people...

Good pictures of acne but it was disturbing your confidence

Never had severe skin problems but I'm so glad for those insights! I wish all the best to you people who have to deal with bad skin or something similar!

That's a great post. Personally I've not had any acne on my face before. I was once told by a friend that as I grow up, it'll come by itself. So I've waited for years and now I'm 21, just don't know when it'll show up. I don't think it'll come because I've not seen anyone in my family with acne. Just that I'm not sure whether it's genetic or not. I need clarity on this. Whether it's genetic or not @brianturner

Thanks @brianturner for bringing this problem to light. Although some of us may not have this specific problem of Acne, I think most of us can identify with the anguish and the pain. And we can empathize on that level. To know it is Real and that it has been a battle for many like yourself is very humbling
