One more week since I have registered and started using Steemit has passed, making it three whole months since I initially registered... three months on Steemit, a real mini-anniversary of a kind. So let me see how things have changed in numbers since the last week and what I have achieved in the last 7 days. You can also check my previous week's status report here if you are interested to see some older numbers. After the usual statistics you can also find some more about the things that I have been doing in the last week and some more thoughts in general...

What I've Been Doing Last Week

Last week I have finalized all the preparations for going to SteemFest by booking plane tickets for going to Amsterdam and then getting back home after the event, after previously booking a room in Volkshotel and of course also buying a ticket for SteemFest. Hopefully the weather will not be bad during SteemFest, though the current weather forecast is not that great, but there is still enough time for things to get better by November 11-13 when SteemFest will be held. If you have npt yet heard about the conference where many Steemers will meet in person, me included, you can get more details about the event on @steemfest or http://steemfest.com.

I have shared some more 3D Printing tips that were targeted towards the preparation of 3D models for printing in the context of the series of articles about 3D printing a Pokemon, though the trick can be applied to any other 3D model that may not have been originally designed for 3D printing and may need some extra work to make it look better when 3D printed as a physical object. I will continue writing about 3D printing and 3D printers, so you can expect more articles as this is one of my hobbies. Another interesting post that is related to 3D printing was the introduction of the ProtoCycler project - a device meant to recycle and reuse old plastic things as filament for 3D printing that should be finally coming on the market. This is not the first filament maker for 3D printers, but the chances are that it might be one of the best and most functional ones when the company making the device finally starts shipping. Since Halloween is coming later this month I have also posted about [Halloween Decorations, Carve a Pumpkin or 3D Print One] with a link where you can find many more things that you can 3D print for the holiday.

Another interesting topic that I have covered is regarding USB microscopes as these generally inexpensive devices can be a great learning toy for kids as well as a useful tool for adults when used properly. I've been using one such device for quite some time for work, though the interest that my post managed to get encouraged me to finally spend some Steem Dollars and buy a new and better USB microscope. So when I get the new device delivered I will be doing another post to give it a short review and show you what you can expect from a slightly improved in technical aspect and with a higher price device.

A few days ago Trying Out Golos, the Russian Only Alternative of Steemit was launched and I wanted to give it a try and see how good it works. As a result I did my first post on Golos and written a post on Stemit with some first impressions about the Russian community that is just starting to form. The project is based on Steemit, but uses a separate blockchain and comes with a Russian-only language interface. It is pretty easy for me as I do understand Russian at a decent level, at least for reading, though my speaking and writing skills do need a lot of improvement. My post about Golos ended up the post that I got the most votes on since I have started using Steemit, almost 300, so another personal record shattered and also a sign that there is interest from users on Steemit in the Golos platform.

Since I'm a tech guy and a bit of a geek when it comes to computers I have shared something interesting from the not so distant past, namely [How First Water Cooled Computer Looked Like 12+ Years Ago]. Of course I'm also following what is happening now such as the announcement of new GPUs from Nvidia like the new entry-level gaming video cards based on the GeForce GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti GPUs. Hopefully in a couple of days I will be posting a bit more information about how the GTX 1050 does for crypto mining and maybe even for gaming, though I'm personally more interested in the mining performance and that is what I will be focusing on.

Photography, another one of my hobbies, is also something that I cover on Steemit, though not very often. This week I have posted some photos and you can check them out here - Early Morning Mountain Mist in the Forest.

@robotev, my pet project bot is developing nicely, though a bit slower lately as I don't have as much free time left to work on it. After trying out Golos I'm also considering porting it on that platform as well as it will be relatively easy to make it work there, I will just have to find curators there. I'm also working on some other ideas to help the Steemit community develop further and improve, but more on that when things are ready.

I hadn't heard of Golos, maybe why some of the Russian people I know have been quiet.
