Exocoetidae, commonly called Flying Fish or in Aceh known as Harbang fish are fish families that are named for their ability to emerge out of the water and glide up remotely with their pectoral fins outstretched. Their slender shape like a torpedo, helping them gather enough underwater speed to break the surface, and their fins like wings get airborne. Once in the air, these fish can glide over a short distance away.

Flights or rather the launch they are usually about 50 meters, but some fish have been recorded to fly up to 200 meters or more. Several species of flying fish has pelvic fins of their pectoral fins, which allows them to fly farther (up to 400 meters), and the maneuverability is much greater. These fish are known as the four-winged flying fish.
To slide up out of the water, flying fish moves its tail may be 70 times per second. Then stretch the pectoral fins and body tilt them slightly upward to provide lift. At the end of the slide, they fold the pectoral fins to get back into the sea, or drop its tail into the water to get another launch or may change direction. Curved profile of the "wing" is comparable to the aerodynamic shape of a bird's wing. These fish are known to take advantage of updrafts created by the flow of air to increase the time of its release.
Flying fish are thought to have evolved so has the ability to glide incredible to avoid predators they are many. Their predators include mackerel, tuna, swordfish, marlin, and other large fish. Unfortunately, this is not enough evasive maneuvers to escape from the largest predators on earth, the man.

If you have never heard of a fish that can fly, then you could give me a little attention. These fish move in whole flocks and are numerous in warm seas. To fly, the Atlantic flying fish jumps out of the water, uses its pectoral fins to catch air currents and provide lift to the atlantic flyingfish, and beats back and forth with its tail to provide thrust. Once it reaches 19 miles per hour, it can jump out of the water and glide 10 to 40 feet. Presumably this is done to avoid ocean predators.
